OUR VINYL RECORD GRADING SCALE :

*ALL GRADING IS BASED ON THE VINYL CONDITION FIRST !

GRADING OF JACKET AND OTHER MATERIALS
SUCH AS INSERTS, ARE SECONDARY AND WILL BE
NOTED IN DESCRIPTION.

Grading is based on both visual and audio quality.
Records are tested on modified Technics 1200MKII
with Line Contact stylus (Audio Technica).

Records are cleaned in one or all of the following methods -
-Manual hand cleaning
-Mechanized - Vacuum cleaning system
-Ultrasonic immersion.

________________________________________________
SS = still sealed

MINT = opened from sealed, no damage.

NM to EX+ = possibly never played or seldomly .
(may have a slight superficial mark on vinyl - paper scuffing for example,
nothing that affects sound quality)

EX to VG++ = visibly clean - minimal scuffs -signs lightly played not perfect an acceptable collector copy.

VG+ = obviously used - mostly distortion free - some scuffing lite marks
non intrusive scratches - random clicks or pops no skips- still in the realm of
a nice play copy with non distorted sound.

VG- = play copy - used - minimal distortion, pops, clicks (but are a factor)
no skipping, no sticking, no jumping - (*mild warp not dramatic is acceptable in this grade) Considered good play copies but not pretty.

G = Records in playable but rough shape overall - lines, marks
physical scratches. Skips will be mentioned if a factor and possible warps or damage will be noted. We try to avoid selling this low grade.

P = poor condition records, probably not found for sale. This means they are damaged, not playable, melted ect.

All purchases will have to be quoted for shipping costs. Buyer is responsible for all shipping fees (usually Canada Post) . If buyer requires a specific shipping option, please contact me for information and quote. I will combine shipping, please contact me for a quote.

About DJ Oats of StrangelySatisfying:

I've been involved in the collecting of vinyl obscurities since 1988
when I started to seek out drums and other samples then being
sought after by producers from Toronto and New York ..
With the intent to amass a unique collection based on local finds
as well as utilize them in his own productions, live DJ sets in clubs,
and on various radio programmes to great effect and
exposure of lost records and artists.
Finding the weird, low rent, private pressings, unique,
one shots, no big labels, and to this day they remain the
most interesting to uncover, listen and share.

Took part as a director, program co-ordinator and radio host with one of the first online community radio stations in Canada (1997 till 2001).
"Radio Ethos" operated on grants, donations and had a college station vibe.
SATURDAY JUNE 27 1998 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWqI8ig_NpI

Have been doing part time professional audio archive work since 1997, analogue to digital mostly for private and commercial contracts.
Usually acetates, vinyl, tape (to digital), but also
have done some video archiving but that’s not my specialty like audio archival is.
I also will clean up audio with digital tools part of my service if need be or requested.

Turntablist /Live DJ since 1991 when purchased my first pair of 1200mkII's and started to compete in the southern Ontario events, including the first DJ battle in London Ontario (the WAVE U.W.O.)

Behind the decks - DJ Oats spins various types of music from classic electro (sounds of 1980s Detroit) old school hip hop, funk soul disco, garage rock / go go stompers just to name a few genres. The art of the live mix (rooted in vinyl mixing- but no stranger to Serato) is what inspires DJ Oats, no matter what the genre.
My main goal is to get people dancing.

I have been involved with many musical, audio projects, productions since 1988
under various names, concepts, themes as well as collaborating with many people
recording with analogue and digital mediums, live off the floor and multi-tracked.
Field recordings are also a valued method of capturing audio
I play and am a dedicated student of the drums and keys.

Far from 1964 release date.. recorded probably '69 to '72. Some songs arranged to sound 'older' and possibly older songs Galt was sitting on. This album is akin to the album "MYSTIC" (KIL 70004) .

Yes Tuff City is a shady label - with a mix of 'legit' releases and boots. They have screwed over countless hip hop artists in the 80s and 90s as well as not given royalties to original artists in general with these compilations.
