Currently moving house so apologies if I'm late answering 'ping's' or answering queries in submissions histories.
Hello and welcome fellow Discogs users to my profile page, a splendid time is guaranteed for all!
Before we start the banner image across the top of the page shows the Mrs and I on the world famous crossing outside Abbey Road Studios. You can click here or here and check the live feed out to see who else is using it. I'm particularly impressed with the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band artwork at the entrance which wasn't there on my last visit.
If you do decide to take a trip there, please remember the green cross code and ensure you look both ways. Click here to find out what happens when you don't.
Oh and equally important no-one likes a show off.
Don't worry everyone survived.
Anyway before you jump to the useful stuff.
Here's a little bit about your host.
I'm a fifty something music collector with a wide range of tastes but with a special interest in the history and recorded work of The Beatles.
I initially joined Discogs to catalogue my collection. However due to the fact that I work away a lot, coupled with my collection being spread over 3 or 4 locations, this is proving difficult.
With that in mind my current goal here is to go through all of The Beatles UK releases one by one and try to make them guideline compliant and link to each other where appropriate.
If I make any mistakes on the way please feel free to edit, comment or vote as you see fit. Nobody 'owns' a submission and as long as they end up correct it doesn't matter who does what.
It's possible you've landed here as I have The Beatles on my watch-list and I may have commented on a submission you have made or edited.
If you think I can be of any help please feel free to PM or give me a ping in the forums, I've received a lot of help myself from the community and feel it's nice to return the favour when you can.
I'm also very active in the forum but sometimes we seem to forget that
Occasionally something within the forums will bring out a urge to rewrite a song or two.

On the way please take the time to check out a brief history of The Beatles. As you can see it's a work in progress. Please also note that any date with an asterisk* is disputed by various sources.

6th July 1957 - St. Peters Church, Woolton, Liverpool - Day 1
It's a glorious Saturday afternoon in Woolton, a leafy suburb in South Liverpool, which is basking in a heatwave. The village is holding it's annual Parish Church Garden Fete, a parade and outdoor fair. The main attractions of the day are a police dog show and a brass band. As a nod to the teenagers attending a local skiffle group, The Quarrymen led by a 16 year old John Lennon, have been invited to perform.
Later that evening The Quarrymen perform again in the Church Hall. Unbelievably an amateur recording of the performance has survived and snippets from it can be heard here and here. Before the performance a friend of Lennon's, Ivan Vaughan, introduces him to a school friend. The friend who subsequently joins the group, is a 15 year old Paul McCartney……

I agree here that for variants, full "sets" should be posted, but only just the matrix sets. I don't think we need to duplicate stuff like Rights Societies and whatnot or other artwork level stuff that would count as a unique release anyways. - DTF 3/4/18

I agree here that for variants, full "sets" should be posted, but only just the matrix sets. I don't think we need to duplicate stuff like Rights Societies and whatnot or other artwork level stuff that would count as a unique release anyways. - DTF 3/4/18
