Same here. I saw him in '96, it was an excellent show.

Criminally overlooked album. Think 60s girl group meets the Velvet Underground. A fun romp with plenty of Leslie speaker swirl

According to the label, the blue vinyl versions was never produced.

"Turn up the volume in the, eh...ear goggles", I love the banter on "Blue Suede Shoes". Jimi's distinctive sense of humor shows up on that track. Not a bad take, even if Buddy was a bit daft on the direction. "Jam 292" is possibly his most under... See full review

This is an entirely enjoyable record. Jimmy James with Curtis Knight, crudely recorded on the day after Christmas 1965 and on another date a few weeks later. These are rough and ready club performances featuring the band's take on blues and R&B... See full review

All copies are warped and this has been recalled for destruction. No repress mention in the recall.

The mix / master on this is quite different from the version on the Captured Tracks Luna box set. Any thoughts?

Doubtful. As of this writing, WEA still had nearly a thousand left. Luna always flew above the population's heads.

A great performance. The panning is annoying. A reissue with corrections is in need.

A fantastic show. Robby is mixed above Ray for a change, making this a very interesting show. Robby is underrated.

Damn, if South Leo St. Stomp isn't a musical answer to Hendrix's Jam 292 or (Jelly 292, really four takes of the same premise), then I don't know what is. Really, some great jazz that isn't afraid to get it's hands dirty.

My favorite ever vinyl reissue. The separation is incredible, still woven expertly into the songs you already know.

Seriously, this is a pinnacle.

Is it just me or does the mix sound very different on Penthouse? The vocals at times sound like a different take. The mix is sounds refocused, with vocals more forward.
