The black vinyl pressing sounds great. Flat with minimal surface noise. Such a beautiful record.

This is an excellent soul album produced by Dan Aurbach from the Black Keys at is Easy Eye studio in Nashville. The recording quality is very good, but the pressing quality of my copy was abysmal -- warped, label way off center, excessive surface... See full review

A solid follow-up to their previous release-- American Love Call. The band expands out a bit with some disco tracks adding a late '70s vibe to their already gorgeous soul compositions. This pressing is at best decent. There is light surface noise... See full review

This is the pressing to get-- mastered by Kevin Gray and pressed at RTI! The original was pressed at United Record Pressings-- well-known for their crap quality. This is a quality release all the way-- superb sounding heavyweight vinyl pressing, clean... See full review

This is a good one dudes! Pressed flat and clean, solid mastering, and of course excellent performances of what are sure to be classic songs one day. If you dig the Black Pumas grab this one ASAP!

I really like this album. A bit of a retro '80s pop feel, excellent overall arrangements. Only one problem; this particular pressing SUCKS. Excessive surface noise everywhere, warping, and bits of non-fill here and there. Pretty awful. Recommend... See full review

This is an excellent vinyl pressing. Came in a tip-on sleeve, looks like it was pressed at QRP or someplace that actually gives a damn about what they're doing. The mastering is also excellent. The music uses early sixties retro-elements to create... See full review

My side 2 is full of non-fill distortion and will be returned. Sounds terrible.

The sound you are hearing is non-fill-- air-gaps where the vinyl did not fill the mold. I can't be cleaned and isn't great for you to be dragging an expensive stylus over it either. The louder you play your music the worse that distortion will sound.... See full review

Not to pile on Merge, but they really have quite a sad history with their vinyl pressings. It is a very rare thing to get one that isn't loaded with surface noise-- and that is always after a thorough cleaning with my Hannl RCM. However, when I've... See full review

This album kicks some serious ass. Mastering is a tad bright on track one (maybe a live studio track?), but the Dude (RIP) shreds, and sings right from the gut. This man was the real deal. Mastered from the original tapes on 180gm blue swirly vinyl. Worth it! See full review

My copy looks terrible with untrimmed edges, pockmarks, damaged lead-in grooves, and other debris scattered all over the surface. The mastering is also on the bright side with something of a bass deficit (though this could be true on an original).... See full review

A fantastic release. The LP pressing quality is as good as it gets and the packaging is to die for. This was pricey but it's one of my favorite albums and it felt more than worth it to me. Everything done right.

The yellow vinyl version is about the same. Poor quality overall even after a thorough cleaning, with areas of non-fill distortion. The black vinyl version is better but still not a great pressing.

It's a noisy pressing-- like, sadly, so many other LDR releases and I have them all, some in multiple versions. I always preclean with a Hannl RCM before playing. It's noisy. I'll try cleaning it again and see if it improves-- some will-- no way to... See full review

GZVINYL IS sh!t, but it is vinyl and not "soft plastic", whatever that is. This is not a particularly well-done or well-appreciated box set- but I do not blame GZMedia for that. That is the fault of the label and the lazy person that was put in charge... See full review
