As I agree with all of the praise that has been lavished upon this box set, I'll just speak to the quality of the vinyl pressings. I have all of the original CD's but had never before heard vinyl pressings of these excellent albums. The vinyl is very... See full review

I have now tried two copies of this pressing and both are warped and littered with objectionable levels of surface noise where it counts-- on the quieter passages. The mastering on this album is excellent and it avoids the brick-wall compression and... See full review

I have only sampled one copy so far and it is a superb sounding pressing-- IF NOT for the abysmal levels of surface noise that ruins the quiet passages on nearly every track. This, after a thorough precleaning on my Hannl RCM. Unfortunately Optimal... See full review

Overall this pressing is well done. The vinyl quality is excellent. The sonics are very good. Could this album benefit from a remastering? I think so. Would there be enough audience for it to make it worth doing? Maybe as a part of a Byrds box set.

This is a decent pressing. The remastering does not really improve the sonics much IMO. The vinyl quality is overall pretty decent with minimal surface noise.

This is a decent pressing that was sold at a low price upon release. The vinyl is a little noisy with crackles and ticks here and there but the sound is warm and open.

Gads what a crap pressing. It helps that the music could have come from the seventies or late sixties with all the pops and ticks. I like the music. It deserved a better pressing. This is sadly all too common with Merge Records US releases. Going to... See full review

I've posted on this above-- but yes, this pressing has excessive levels of surface noise littered through all sides. It's not bad luck-- this is what most people are gonna get when they buy the green vinyl variant.

These comments are about the vinyl pressing quality of the green vinyl variant. This is far from a "beautiful pressing". It is pressed at GZ Media (shudders) and although I've thoroughly cleaned both discs (using a Hannl RCM) there remains noticeable... See full review

This pressing is nothing short of superb. Dead silent, black backgrounds, decadently rich mastering, and probably one of the best DM releases ever. I only have the original CD to compare, and this blows it away, with far more authoritative bass and... See full review

A meticulous pressing that even though pressed by Cheesy (GZ) Media, sounds more like a Pallas pressing and even uses a proper rice-paper inner sleeve. The mastering is also excellent with good dynamics and plenty of analog warmth. A very cool record... See full review
