[If you have a question concerning any of my submissions you’re welcome to drop me a line, but you might wait some time for an answer as I’m about to loose interest in sharing knowledge here (in form of submitting and editing releases) and so am not regularly checking my inbox anymore. The main reason for this are these weird annoying price statistics! It’s changing the market drastically. A lot of prices have been adulterated through bootlegs being sold and documented as original pressings. It’s helping lazy sellers, copycats and other vermin exploiting insider knowledge the easy way.]

This has to be my 4th account or something, the first one being barryblunt from the year 2004, the good old days with moderator, no weird price statistics and stuff yet. On this moniker and a few others I have been adding a lot of the classic Hip Hop releases here for the first time which has been much work, so I'm kinda glad I was obviously backing the right horse. I had already been buying and selling records at eBay in its very early days like from the very beginning on over here in Germany in 1999 by the name barryblunt. Later I also went by the name CHAIRMANoftheBORED, an account that I have closed accidentally.

My Steckenpferd is US Hip Hop and Hardcore Punk music, but I'm versatile: I love a lot of other stuff like Country Music (Honky Tonk and Bakersfield), classic Rockabilly, Surf and Garage singles, (pre-progressive) Psychedelic Rock, 60s & 70s Soul, Boogie and P-Funk (no Disco!), Hip Hop Breaks and early 70s Soundtracks with fast hot pursuit Funk tracks, Thrash Metal and sometimes even some electronic stuff. Music with English, German or no lyrics is what I can understand and prefer to listen to.

I collect records only! No tapes or other hipster stuff. The genuine 1st retail pressing is what I usually look for. It might be the idea to own the exact same version of a record that the artist might have received from his label at the day of its release, so to say. I became some kind of obsessed with this idea in the late 90s when the big labels tried kill the vinyl format and replace it with much more profitable CD sales. Bootleggers tried to fill in this vaccum and flooded the market with their expensive but illegal low-grade counterfeit pressings. It became neccessary to be able to identify bootleg pressings. Thanks to the internet collectors were able to connect and trade information easierer and became gradually able to read the most common runout inscriptions for example. The original Spinemagazine which evolved into the DWG (Diggers with Gratitude) and other communities were a great help back then.

Do not dare to trick me with any of your $%§&'#* bootlegs!!!
