Nonplace Urban Field - Golden Star

I am hearing this for the first time tonight. Some of my friends imagine I listen to such things when I am alone. It’s true. Burnt has my full attention. I have been buying anything I can get my hands on that he is involved in. The ‘Embassadors” as an... See full review

And why no back cover? Cost savings??? I just purchased an unopened copy of this, no back cover, just as the picture shows. Matador has been reliable forever. Hmmmmm.

My copy was covered in some odd foreign agent that lived on top of the grooves and caused lots of clicks and pops. I was sad. I grabbed a pad and some good old napalm and cleaned almost all of it off. Sadly, noise persists. I may have got a one off... See full review

My copy sounds wonderful and I have no complaint. However this is the thinnest and lightest 180 gram LP I have ever held.
I absolutely do not think it is 180 grams. It is really fine though.
(Perhaps it's 180 grams for both discs?)

I agree with the suggestion that you should buy this copy. Yes, the hole is/was small. I fixed it with my trusting 1/4" allen wrench. (This cleans out the hole nicely) The sound is great.

On my first play of this LP I loved the songs and the sound. It's quality vinyl, quiet and well done. Great album!

Sadly this two LP set is on pop and click vinyl. When it is not popping and clicking it sounds wonderful.

What a great album, and the vinyl sounds wonderful. I have no opinion on the wrapper, the music and the great sound work for me.

I have been with these guys since their first album. I just gave this one a spin. Ouch. Ouch twice. That first track will make you wonder what happened to your turntable. Huge sigh.

The other comment here mentions Gatefold, that is a different version than this one. The sound of the four remixed tracks on side one is very fine. The original mix of Primitive Painters sounds poor in comparison. (But it does sound like Primitive... See full review

I bought this album new from Amazon and it was really inexpensive. The sound is really quite good, zero complaints from me. I think it is a fine pressing. (it sounds better than the CD copy I have, but you knew that)

I cleaned my brand new copy in my fancy machine and played it. It seems a little on the dry side but I don't think it's awful or noisy. I immediately compared it to my SD 7244 (https://www.discogs.com/Yes-Close-To-The-Edge/release/9291906) version and... See full review

I bought my copy from the band at a gig when they were touring for "Lost in the Dream". I have had it for a couple of years and finally played it for the first time today. (I did a 24/96 recording of it) I also have the CD copy and have listened to... See full review

Nice songs, But..
Sadly, like way too many CDs released in the past few years, this disc has been compressed to the point that it is very hard to enjoy. Subtle as a nuclear explosion. This one is particularly bad. See... See full review

Sadly, mine also is pretty noisy and I washed it first in my Audio Desk Glass cleaner. When it isn't popping it is extremely quiet and the sound is ten steps ahead of anything else. But then it starts popping. Still glad to have it.

Robyn compressed the sound on this release as sadly so many do on Remasters.

My first spin through this and I gotta tell ya, it's a lot funkier than I could of hoped for. Judy Sucks a Lemon left me a little cold. Not so with this one. I read a few reviews and I was worried but this is fun again. Turn it up!
