"My house" has that magical vocal hook that later came to be sampled in tons of classic house and techno anthems such as Frankie Bones' "My house is your house" and Montini Experience "Astrosyn (My house is your house)", to name a memorable few.

FWIW The vocal is originally sampled from Nelson Cruz's "My house". That same vocal line was later sampled in TONS of tracks.

Funny digs: Mike & Glenn pretty clearly sampled Air Liquide's "Der Läufer" on both Discipline and Red Light.

Acknowledging this is a parody record, but why straight rednecks always seem to want gay men to blow them is beyond me. I'm happy someone is emphasizing it :-D

"Nucleosynthesis" has to be my all-time favorite Morphology track, hands down. The brilliantly conducted gloomy, funked-up vibe with the eeriely grim pad sends shivers down my spine every time. "Lagrangian" and "Beta Decay" are excellent tracks too!
posted a review of Jeff Mills - Purpose Maker Live Series. over 2 years ago
For better or worse, this is Jeff Mills' being very uncompromising - through which he's not giving a hoot about what can or can not be pressed on vinyl, so if anything, it's a record with integrity. For the live audience this must have been a great ... See full review

The A1 track still gives me goosebumps to this day, and is IMHO by far and large if not _the_ best, at least one of the best tracks he's ever done, maintaining both the mellow roots vibe with full-on 4/4 dancefloor techno. Then B2, and finally B1. In ... See full review

The vocal sample in the beginning of "Tough at the top" samples the Cannonball Adderley vocal intro to "Why am I treated so bad?"
posted a review of Alba Patera - Tog/Ker/Cag. over 4 years ago
Coming from Umek - when he was still very much relevant in the techno world - this is possibly the finest offering from the Monoïd label. Track A, "Tog", stands out as the hit, for obvious reasons. The other tracks are very good also although, ... See full review
posted a review of Damon Wild - Rotary. over 6 years ago
"Rotary" is indeed a gem in Damon Wild's production, but buying this 10" isn't worth it since the Regis remix just doesn't do any justice for the original track, is pretty stale and at the end of the day, a very boring attempt at remixing an already ... See full review
posted a review of Code Red. over 6 years ago
Code Red was, and still is, a high-quality label that in its prime time, served a purpose and did it well. The label was shut down maybe just a bit too early, yet late enough so as to not spoil the label which is what, personally, I see has happened with ... See full review
posted a review of Substance - Relish. over 6 years ago
For Chain Reaction as a label, "Relish" is an interesting and inspiring release since the original with it's different versions sort of crossed over on a vast scope of styles. It was perfect for funked-up grinding techno sets, yet fitting for a slower ... See full review

There is a repress made in 2000 under the same catalogue number.

This is a key record in the mid 90's jungle (early drum&bass) biz, with the unmistakeable David Rodigan sample in the beginning. Buy on sight!

The second release of x0x was left out on purpose, ie. there is no X0X002.

I have a copy with no numbering - just a transparent plastic cover, black paper folded over one side of the record and a plain white sleeve. No foldable cardboard discos. Maybe a promo.
posted a review of Gaetek - S.I.L.I.A. EP. over 6 years ago
Even though the mastering and technical production on this double-EP release isn't too strong, the tracks are mostly hard as nails in their presence, drive and intensity. Although other releases such as "Motorial EP", "Vesuvius EP" and the C&G ... See full review
posted a review of Captain Tinrib - Ride Me Baby / Mother 1. over 12 years ago
In the middle of the catalogue of a hardhouse rumpus label, this release stands out with the track "Mother 1" in that it's nowhere close to the cheesy hardhouse sound of Tinrib usually, but in stead a tightly compressed drum-funk workout that will work ... See full review

In true Pan(a)sonic vein, this release follows the same patterns. Very very dry and minimal, yet groovy and direct, thus suitable at the dancefloor. If you're into this, you're bound to be into the 'Osasto EP' and 'B' releases of Pan Sonic.

An excellent release from UFO but one from which you can hear more than obvious influences - if not shameless riff rip-offs - from Aztec Mystic's seminal "Jaguar". Rip-off or not, it still manages to maintain that certain "something" that makes it come ... See full review

Each person's mileage may vary, but clearly this is one of the best and memorable moments in Cari's production history, both because of the clever and magic trickery but also because the release is full of innovative and well-thought sounds. It's a pity ... See full review

These tracks were given to Lekebusch by Leiner, Beyer and Henrik B for his thirtieth (30th) birthday, so Cari pressed them on vinyl :)

the B2 track, when listened closely, is actually the
_real original_ "knights of the jaguar" by dj rolando/UR.. it should be credited to him even though the EP is by karizma..
