Soon to be deservedly repressed but worth every single penny if you decide to track down an original UK pressing, beautiful production, lush strings, haunting melodies and a real audiophile experience. David Sylvian's early solo work is sublime but this ... See full review

Same here. No mention of Warners on any of the labels but what a pressing :) One of the best sounding records I own.

Pretty good for a repress - a lot of detail in the sound for such an old recording and well worth your pennies.

Terrific pressing this from Mute to celebrate 40 years of the label. Great dynamics, no surface noise and the whole album sounds like it could have been recorded yesterday. Very impressive and more of this please...

An intriguing album. Variations of a superb lead track with ZTT technicians showcasing their immense and unique production skills. Intersections sound like Art Of Noise musings with Ian Shane reading rather wonderfully from a Paul Morley autocue, but the ... See full review

Gorgeous pressing and a real audiophile experience. A brilliantly produced album and to my ears, this French pressing sounds even better than the standard EU black pressing. Worth grabbing whilst you still can if you love this album.

I tend to avoid reissues especially when you can pick up original pressings of this album for a reasonable price but have to agree with the comments below, this is a superb pressing - vibrant and warm. Impressive packaging too with a strong cardboard ... See full review

Sadly, I wasn't buying vinyl in the 90's and original pressings are scarce of this album but I've been very impressed with the vinyl remasters that I've heard so far.

Giving this a spin for the first time in three years, beautiful pressing. Lost in 'Pyongyang' as I type and possibly the finest track Blur ever recorded.

Same problem here and I didn't notice it until late last night, records 1 & 3 are quite badly warped. The store I get it from are sending me out another copy. Such a fine and joyous release though - love it :)

Superb sonics on this vinyl release and full of catchy electronic stompers. One of the best modern day pressings I've heard and beautifully packaged. They've even thrown in two CDs(!) Highly recommended.

I've just ordered the Mute 4.0 orange repress of this due out in October and really looking forward to hearing this artist on vinyl for the very first time. I saw him perform with Depeche in London way, way back in 2001and thought that he was the best ... See full review

What a fantastically produced album this is. My budget wouldn't stretch to an original UK pressing but I've just taken delivery of a close to mint Dutch copy - great sonics and what a unique artist. Well worth the 40 pounds I paid for it.

Nice pressing though it doesn't really glow-in-the-dark. Clean vinyl and quite dynamic with no surface noise and a lovely way to commemorate the 20th anniversary of this analogue synth gem.

Some of the ratings on Discogs are nothing short of bizarre, just 4.35/5 for 'Black Celebration?? It's a 4.6 *at least* and the original UK pressing is the one to get.

I have a mint copy of the non-embossed version. Cream labels with one of the labels completely blank bar the 'Silvertone Records' logo. Not sure what was going on there but I think its either a later 1989 or early 1990 re-press.
