LOL! I absolutely love it! And "real disco" is indeed my bag
posted a review of Patrick Cowley - Kickin' In. about 1 month ago
Patrick Cowley was all about music and then sex, and then music and then sex. This reflects his obsession with both. I agree with Terence Evergreen...not sure why I bought this...excited at the fact of previously unreleased Patrick Cowley music...but ... See full review

Love New Sin...the first issues in the 80s are all iconic classic Italo Disco "Old Man" "Try to Telephone" and most especially, "Black Fantasy" complex rhythms and melodies, with great hooks. I understand this is unreleased material from that ... See full review

A fantastic song! My favorite of that year...it grows and grows on you with each repeated listen...a fine rendering of Cerrone's work which I think goes one better..with the guttural urgency in the vocals.

This is great stuff and puts me in a such a good mood! Understand this was #1 on the disco AND pop charts in Britain. Any upbeat remix of Rodgers and Hammerstein is wonderful---ck out the Coconuts "If I Only Had A Brain", and Disconnections' "Bali ... See full review

What an alluring duo! And three fantastic compositions--in the mid 80s, all worth the price! Mesmerizing and hypnotic Italo at its best. So glad they are back, if only they could replicate what they did in the 80s.
posted a comment on D. White. 5 months ago
Truly Tremendous Italo...esp. "All The Story Is History", which has to be one of the finest crafted Italo Disco composition in the last several years--and D. White has just the perfect approach for its hypnotic cadence. One can only hope that ... See full review

I notice that this is an unofficial release...so my observations may lie in that fact. I'm going to start by saying that this is another dynamic re-edit by Danny Krivit that has done a metamorphosis on a song I do not recall from the day, but know it ... See full review

Wow! Was this really a hit? In the US? In the UK? This is from South Pacific.....Rodgers and Hammerstein musical...circa early 1950s?

Thanks for keeping me in the know. Wow...after listening to the Supertramp version, I definitely love the Raes version so much more...but then I'm biased....

Well articulated! I wanted to love this...and couldn't put the feeling or words to why it felt flat and lackluster, like you were able to. George Benson is remarkable, esp. for things like his "Beyond the Sea" and "Moody's Mood" and the absolute ... See full review

Matra put out such tantalizing post disco music in the early 80s. This album is a stand out through and through, and holds up remarkably well today and sounds as fresh and tantalizing, if not more so, some 35 years later. Every single track is ... See full review

Side B is "Johnny Johnny Please Come Home" off the same Claudja Barry LP, rather than "Dancin Fever".

Spot on! The original is short and sweet, but a perfectly crafted soul tune. The reworking is a magnificent disco tune!

Thanks for the update. Someone advised me on Facebook too...both versions are enjoyable.

Can anyone enlighten me as to why this is going for such high prices?? It's a mystery to me.

So what's the deal with this record? I came across sealed copies of this frequently about two years ago, and sold them for about $20 all in one week in Feb. 2018. Now the price is pushing $80-$100. Why the spike in demand?

What do you think folks? Good investment? I purchased Tom Moulton's Phila. Intl remixes box set for $170, and now it's going for $420.

This was very helpful. I understand there is a proper extended version of Heaven Knows--is that on Hot Tracks? Do you know which one? They do differ don't they?
posted a comment on The Supremes - Right On. about 1 year ago
This is a fine summary that helped me learn about the direction the group was headed. The next group(s) and their ever changing lineup showcased much better singers--Jean Terrell, Scherrie Payne, and Susaye Greene.

The more I listen to this it seems to be derived from Mendelssohn's The Hebrides (Fingal's Cave) with some Johnny Bristol "Hang On In There Baby" at 1:35.

Say is the only vinyl that has the Chaka Khan Danny Krivit edit? They talk about the Roca Records release, but it doesn't sound the same, and I believe it is an uncredited re-edit?
