Fantastic release. Beautifully packaged, great production and warm rich sound. But above all stellar music; deepest dub beats with spangled synths and zither... well done guys...

In the 1990s some friends and I ran a tiny esoteric/ ambient Sunday club in Glasgow. We were booking as many of our inspirations to play live as we could. We couldn’t believe our luck when Holger agreed to perform for what seemed like a small fee. Then ... See full review

I agree with funkymusic, except... Mr Marvin's 'Base Line Dub' is basically an acapella, sequenced for mixing, with a deep string to give it even more tension, a TOTAL weapon.

Great album. Some of the B-side percussive tracks remind me of Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia around the time of ‘Ov Biospheres and Sacred Grooves’. Hypnotic, Eastern, Tribal. Visionary band.

Digging in Scotland can sometimes be a harsh and unrewarding pastime; the ‘away game’ expeditions to foreign lands can be a stark and depressing reminder of how relatively monocultural and insular my beloved province was in the 60s and 70s. You’re never ... See full review

‘That’s what it’s all about’ is pure class. An understated swelling crescendo of perfect mellow soul. Reveals quite an attitude; opting to put a tune like that LAST on your new album.

As their tiny jaws
Munch on planet cores
Their complex eyes
Examine the skies

‘Bob’ Calvert transports you to a world where The Aphids are eating the entire universe. More songs should be written on subjects like this.

Every time I play the edit of ‘It’s Really You’ my wife says ‘That sounds like Chris Rea’. I love her and she’s usually spot on... but she has blind spots. I keep playing it. Top marks, nice edit.

What a lovely album this is. Lots here but 'blues for brother E' is a favourite late night listen. 'Manhunt' quite reminiscent of Exuma tracks. How unfair that these Deram rarities are now so expensive because they were so overlooked at the time- yet ... See full review
