kigonjiro's main point is correct. This release was available not only in the US. And the (allegedly) 500 copies were not split. There were 500 copies of the Deluxe Passport Edition (with separate numbering).

It was a successful release, so there are many variations, including transitional copies showing different label versions. But we will get there, step by step. ;-)

This is the best pressing of this LP I've heard. The punch of the drum intro sets the pace. Precise and vivid.

This record sounds strangely dull/muffled, even for a mono recording of the time, like it needed to be pitched up.

What a terrible mastering job for the LP! Record really sounds dull and thin. I wonder if the US pressing sounds any better?

The sound quality is really no reason to get this box. The 45 rpm mastering is a fine idea, but pressing it at GZ spoils it completely. Really no point, sounds s-t. Original pressings sound much better.

Rough guide through the history of German pressings:
The earliest pressings show the "ECM Records" logo on the labels with copyright rim text beginning with "Urheber- und Leistungsschutzrechte".
Then they switched to the "ECM" logo on the labels... See full review

Looks like a counterfeit. The label colour is wrong and Metronome pressed at Deutsche Grammophon/Phonodisc (later called PRS), so the runout etchings are revelatory: fake.
