In December 1981 in the loft of this small shop - more and more fertile place for young talents - was born the first independent label of 'disco music' in Italy thanks to its own national distribution and therefore completely and therefore completely detached from the majors of the recording industry.
Best Record - mainly specialized in the import-export of records from USA and UK - a few months later exploded with the nascent genre Italo-disco making the brand quickly famous all over the world with its record productions of this new disco style that becomes the musical phenomenon of the 80s in Europe.

Best Record di Via Vodice 15 è stato per lungo e memorabile tempo un importante punto d'incontro e d'aggregazione per molti giovani della capitale appassionati di musica e di dischi ed è stata anche una consueta fermata per molti artisti ed addetti ai lavori.
Nel dicembre del 1981 sul soppalco di questa piccola bottega - che ogni giorno diveniva sempre più fucina di giovani talenti - nacque l'etichetta discografica Best Record, prima label di disco-music completamente svincolata dalle multinazionali del settore. L'importante trasformazione consentì al marchio, che già possedeva una sua propria capillare distribuzione oltre ad una ventina di negozi della catena Best Record, un salto di qualità tale da diventare in breve tempo famoso in tutto il mondo grazie alle sue numerose, più note e ben riuscite produzioni del nascente genere musicale in seguito meglio definito Italo-Disco .
