As a seller, I believe in grading and selling in the way I would like to be sold to as a buyer.

Also known to some, particularly those on the Revival Reggae music 'scene' as Bigmikeydread.

I've been collecting records since I was about 5 years old, Beatles, Country Blues, Jimi Hendrix; then Reggae solidly since around 1993. I had a few Jamaican tunes before that..

About once a month put out an episode of Bigmikeydread Reggae Radio, come and listen on podomatic or mix cloud or iTunes, download or stream the show, playing Caribbean music from the 1950s until now..

I have lectured in Jamaican popular music at Chichester University and have compiled from my own Shellac collection of rare Jamaican 78rpm records for the then Fantastic Voyage Record Label.

Music is Life.

I have recently obsessed over Folk Rock and Folk Psych, collecting music by artists like Bridget St John and everything I can find by Sandy Denny, Fairport Convention, Fotheringay, Pentangle, and early Steeleye. I'm a big Nick Drake fan, but I love my hardcore Jammy's Dancehall Reggae too.

My family and I have been involved in the Folk music scene in America and the UK since the late 50s.

I'm particularly into 78s as a format and find it incredible that they are so undervalued by the collecting 'fraternity'. It was a holy revelation to learn about RIAA EQ curves and what could be done by removing them and re-applying the correct EQ curves to pre 1955 recordings. It's a world most people don't even realise exists.

I'm enjoying discogs overall, though am a little frustrated with people who submit images they didn't take, and details taken from sources online, some of which I have spent time submitting, in an effort to increase their perceived kudos among the record collectors out there. Those of us who actually own the records can see through that in a second, and wannabe collectors don't half look stupid.

Vinyl has, in the last few years become, the latest thing, again . . . to some of us, it is THE thing, and has been for a very long time. I've seen the old Vinyl shops close down months before Vinyl was 'discovered' again, by a new generation. It's sad, because records, reccordings, made by movement, real or electrically amplified in a spiral groove are representative of life, and it's ongoing spiral, cds are snapshots of life, 44.1khz of tiny pictures of amplitude, and not amplitude itself..

Charlatan, genius? Is he just playing with our perceptions? Does he know who he is or who he wants to be. Daniel Romano keeps us guessing, he's toying with us and has been from the start, or at least that's the feeling I get. I've been following his work ... See full review

So I correctly rotated images and added information necessary to make this a worthwhile and info filled entry on Discogs and yet, it's been merged with a sub standard entry with crappy label scans, unrotated, this entry has taken precedence, nmy credit ... See full review

This apparently was not a label based anywhere, but labels sold alongside cutting lathes manufactured and sold under the M.S.S. recording Co name. Chris Lane - Fashion Records told me this, and that he had owned just such a lathe as his first lathe for ... See full review

Your Vinyl mastering and press of the BR001 issue 2017 of Not Even Happiness is woeful, horridly and distractingly distorted. You advertise 180grm Vinyl, as it it's some badge of quality and then offer us a really crummy pressing, so distracting to ... See full review

Terribly mastered, sounds like someone told them they didn't need a separate vinyl master and went straight from their digital master at the pressing plant . . . . WRONG.

Absolutely awful. Hence my rating. This is evident on a number of 'newly' ... See full review

Check out the rating, currently 4 stars out of 5, and I personally doubt this has anything to do with Belafonte's input on the Lp, but check out the Islanders. I'm not quite sure who they are, but this is proper Jamaican Mento!!!, not watered down ... See full review

These aren't bootleg though Anokjon, legally there is no reason to pay Salford, morally I agree with you, but he as far as I understand has no legal call on these tunes, production, or pressing.
