As a seller, I believe in grading and selling in the way I would like to be sold to as a buyer. I will consistently grade to make the buyer smile not frown when he opens his doorstep parcel.

Also known to some, particularly those on the Revival Reggae music 'scene' in the UK as bigmikeydread. I've been collecting records since I was about 5 years old, Beatles, Country Blues, Jimi Hendrix; then Reggae solidly since around 1993. I had a few Jamaican tunes before that..

A couple of years ago I compiled the double cd 'Mento Not Calypso' from my Shellac collection of rare Jamaican 78s. I have also lectured in Jamaican popular music at Chichester University and once produced and presented a Podcast being downloaded 30,000 times a month.

Recently been buying Incredible String Band Lps, but have also been getting into early American R&B and Rockabilly too more over the last couple of years.

I'm particularly into 78s as a format and find it incredible that they are so undervalued by the collecting 'fraternity'. It was a holy revelation to learn about RIAA EQ curves and what could be done by removing them and re-applying the correct EQ curves to pre 1955 recordings. It's a world most people don't even realise exists.

I'm enjoying discogs overall, though am a little frustrated with people who submit images they didn't take, and details taken from sources online, some of which I have spent time submitting, in an effort to increase their perceived kudos among the record collectors out there, thing is those of us who actually own the records can see through that in a second, and you don't half look like a right numpty. I suggest you go and buy some records, and then submit something you actually own.

Disappointing, wondered why I'd only listened to this once since purchase, pulled it off the shelf, listened again, realised. Lazy lazy transfer, poor sound quality, sounds like a worn Lp, fluffy mids, distorted on peaks, not good at all, I wouldn't ... See full review

Anyone want to explain how the Jamaican Shellac issue is under the master release of a UK liscenced 45rpm issue. I really wish some of the people on here knew what the hell they were talking about..

I'm really not sure this was sold only as a Box set of 4. It looks like an Lp that could have been sold both separately and as part of a box set.

For anyone looking for Dandelion Seeds it looks (listens) like the Lp version is not the same as the 45 single release. I haven't actually listened to the 45 release, but have heard it on a compilation, and the versions don't tally.

If this has been remastered, they did an AWFUL job of it, mid range and top end clarity has all but gone, muffled and very disappointing, as the Back to Black issues are as I have found so far, pretty damn good. This isn't. Appears to be master and not ... See full review

Done it.. as you requested, still not the best they could be, but a whole heap better. Can I just also say, how the hell has this got a 3.75 average rating?? 5/5 every time.

John Martyn Fan here definitely, love the early Lps, up to One World really, and there are for me great moments on this Lp, but overall it is to me, as if John Martyn thought, to himself, I'm going to see just how incoherently stylised I can make my ... See full review
