[quote=Karu_selli] very different from future versions in my opinion. More murky and not so clear in the high ends. Sounds more like other norsk black metal bands. Its a good and a bad thing with emperor. Especially vast difference comparing with 2003 ... See full review

Although this album looks very spacey and interesting, it's some of the worst garbage from this era that I have ever heard! This must surely only be obtaining high prices due to rarity alone. Yes, there's a place for differences in taste, but this album ... See full review

The version of "Summertime" is very good. "Summertime" is my favourite song, and I've heard a gazillion versions, and this is one of the better ones. Get in touch if you would like me to send the song to you :-).

I am aware that many people are crazy about strange and obscure psych and prog (and so am I), but stay far, far away from this one! It's extremely expensive, and it's some of the worst rock music I've ever heard! A hardcore collector and shop owner I ... See full review

I don't have my copy anymore, but the pictures I've been able to find of the grey label don't mention place of manufacture either. I honestly can't say which is the original issue, but I stil believe it's the grey label (just like Thorinshield), as it ... See full review

Isn't your lyric sheet from "Axis: Bold as love"? That one came with an orange lyric sheet. Here's a picture of it:

Most of the material on this album is sourced from very poor sources: Either it's clearly dubbed from vinyl, including surface noise, or it's from some super low quality source, perhaps old casette tapes. It's very, very clear that it's not made from the ... See full review

The grey one should be the original. I asked my question back in 2011, and I still have the impression that the grey one is the first issue.

Why is this considered a reprint? The gold/bronze labels were earlier than the white ones with the drawing of a globe. Is this tan label just a variation of the gold/bronze label?

I can't say if this one sounds any different than the other American issues (or from any other country), as I haven't heard it, but the UK edition doesn't sound very good either. It's very muggy and unclear sounding. Add to that that American vinyl from ... See full review

The tracks from the original album were transferred from the vinyl LP, but it's one of the better vinyl-rips released by Karma Music.

This CD was done from the master tapes (unlike some of Karma Music's other releases) and it's easily the best sounding version of the Pan album. I compared it to the original vinyl LP, and I had also previously heard an unoffical CD which was quite poor.

This cd is a vinyl-rip, and unfortunately not a very good one. Although it has more treble and details in the higher registers than the vinyl LP, the sound quality is very thin and sharp.

The track order written on the cover is also wrong. For instance "This house is smokin'" is track #3 on the CD. It seems the track order has been randomly shuffled.

This remastered edition sounds strange. I have been of the opinion that remastering by default meant an improvement, but this album has been one that has shown me that, sadly, this is not always the case :-(

Unfortunately, this CD issue was recorded from the vinyl LP and not made from the master tapes. Although it has probably been processed (cleaned) you can occassionally hear light ticks and distortion from the LP.
posted a comment on Eclection - Eclection. over 4 years ago
This is unfortunately a very poor CD issue. The sound is very muffled. I doubt that the original master tapes were used for this. I really hope that another CD issue will be made. Especially the song "Another time another place" is world class!

My copy also loses one channel at the end of "Holding you...", and this also happens at the beginning of the song, just when the drums come in.

Is it just a mistake that the date here says 1959 (instead of 1955)? I read that this was Sinatra's first 12" album, so it would seem odd that it wasn't released on 12" vinyl until four years after it was recorded. The 10" versions states 1955 here on ... See full review
