Interesting! Thanks for the reply. I knew about the other Quiet Jungle connections but was unsure about this one. I appreciate the response.

The rumour on the street (aka the internet) is that the band on this album is Toronto's legendary garage band The Quiet Jungle. Does anyone have any sources that confirm that?

Same with issues with my copy too. I imagine the sources are a bit worn. Sounds like a generational copy to me as opposed to a master tape copy.

Mine has a red stamp of the title in a box. No other words on the sleeve. Same labels as this pressing.

My copy is #10421 so there was definitely more than 10k produced (even just a few).

Apparently they're different albums and the tracks that appear on both are alternate takes. I've got Black Plague but not Only 16 - Poor Little Fool so I can't compare.
This info comes from the Terry Black wikipedia entry so take it for what you will. |

My copy has an OG US mono cover where a gold 'Stereo' sticker was attached to the front and Sparton info printed on the inside of the cover. It says mono on the spine. It does not have the gold Sparton stamp on the front. Anyone else's like this?

I echo the comments below about sound. This record blows away my OG pressing. Perfectly balanced, lots of midrange and no pressing flaws. Highly recommended if you can find it.

Agreed. Super strange. Looks like the same pressing plant too.

Sounds like an OG European pressing. I have a similar one for a different album. See this entry: Shakey Jake - Good Times.

Got this from the ARC Records FB page: "Teak Wood was Phil Englishman. Father of Canadian recording artists Esthero and her brother j. Englishman".

My copy of this 12" single has 'Driftin' Too Far From Shore' as B2 instead of the listed 'They Killed Him'. Both the back cover and labels state it's 'They Killed Him'.
Anyone else's copy like this? |

Just corrected the release to reflect this info. I was wondering why it was missing.
Thank you. |

OP here. My copy is the one in the pics. By all accounts, it's a mono pressing based on the labels, cover and the fact that stereo pressings say 'Stereophonic' on them. But upon listening, it's clear this release is a 'hard-panned' stereo pressing....

My copy also has a textured sleeve. I've updated the Tag to reflect that. Sounds incredible!
