m44-7, I reckon your ears might just need a few more years of training...which might also affect your perspective on ths sound of the original ur releases...

I agree with Gimac123. The tracks on this album sound strangely predictable and colourless, simply repeating genre clichés with a lack of attention to detail - e.g., loops repeated to often without modulation. The mastering lacks edge and sounds suitable ... See full review

To my humble mind, this is one of the absolutely greatest electro albums ever. It is so fantastically fresh, in yer face and deep at the same time, so much power, clarity of mind and an absolutely lovely attitude that I feel warmed at heart and ... See full review

Shame!!! The repress is has the same rubbish sound on vinyl as earler pressings do! I hate Tresor for what they have done to this album! It´s criminal, it´s such a shame! Shame on you!!!

This seems to be a controversial record. I love the playful approach combined with pure atkinesque techno sounds on this ep.

Experimental electro/house/techno/no genre pure synthesizer juice. Unique and unbelievably good.

Nice selection of tracks on this comp: not only the usual suspects. I have an issue with the mastering though. Although it is not bad from a strictly technical viewpoint, Souljazz have not at all proven able to transmit the true sound of acid house. It´s ... See full review

I think they did not make the best choices about which tracks to put on the vinyl...it´s a shame with these strut samplers, always frustrated because the best tracks are CD only.

Quite cool album, very solid. There is a very slight worry, however, that Stingray might be starting to repeat himself a little bit. But I´m convinced that surprises are still ahead....

This album is outstanding. Cold Stingray micro-electronics combined with analogous warmth. A unique combination, done in a unique style. To me, really the best Stingray/Urban tribe publication of them all.

Beautiful record. Most fine-grained differentation of sound and space. To me, some of Stingray´s stuff is about the most advanced contemporary electronic music I know of. If he weren´t so very much on his own feet, one would be tempted to say a new ... See full review

Amazing record. The title track is just 808 patterns, extremely well done. Would blend in perfectly with Chicago ´87 underground sound, but free from obvious retro cliches. It is as if Helena Hauff had discovered that they forgot to make this track in ... See full review

The music is incredibly beautiful. However, I would strongly recommend to buy the CD, not the vinyl. I have both CD and vinyl and the mastering on the vinyl is a mere shadow of what you can hear on the CD. The fragile balance of the sounds on the CD is ... See full review

In a sense, this sampler really conveys some aspects of the 80´s oldschool electro sounds. The synths, the beats, the vocoders - it all does sound very "original". In this sense, I can recommend the album. However, I also have to admit that it feels ... See full review
