The A side sounds fine, just like the CD. The B side however is distorted and harsh. Sounds terrible. I have heard the two different vinyl pressings of this album and I have to say that they sound a lot better. This is just a collectors item.

This is still in print. People are mistaking the reissue for the first pressing and are listing it on that page. That also makes owners of the real first pressing go down in price. Now is your chance to buy an original.

Sorry for late response. No, the volume level is normal, not too quiet or too loud. IT doesn't sound BAD per se but I'm fairly sure it's the recordings fault.

Sounds great. Compared to the digital download this is not as hard on the bass and it's not clipping anywhere. It sounds more close to the original CD. Perhaps they pressed this from the original plates? One can dream...

Sounds great. No surface noise at all. Bass is a bit heavy but that might just be the mastering.

Again, this pressing has good sound but ugly cover art. Compared to my 1988 German pressing it looks awful. Lower resolution and cheaper printing. Sound wise it's a bit louder than the 1988 pressing. It's also a bit more compressed and bassy. And perhaps ... See full review

Good sound but ugly cover art. Looks like a poor scan of the original. You can even see some photocopied dust and scribbles if you look closely. Sound wise it's great. A bit cold and digital perhaps. I would get the original DMM pressing.

No. It’s a repress from the original plates. 10 words.

Hmm strange. My OG pressing of Sailing the Seas of Cheese sounds noticeably better. This sounds, not worse or much better than the CD. It was probably recorded digitally too. And as the band probably had a limited budget during this time that might have ... See full review

Did you buy a sealed original or the newest pressing? I have the original and it sounds superb.

Sounds ok. Nothing special. I don't believe the original mix on this album is too good to begin with.

It sounds horrendous. Must be the recording. 10 words. 10 words.

Sounds really good. Compared to the CD, the sound is a lot fuller and wider. I believe this is a different mix compared to the CD aswell as the drums are mixed differently in many of the songs. For example, in 3's and 7's the hihat is in the center, not ... See full review

It sounds absolutely sublime. Drums are punchy and clear and it almost feels like you're in the same room as the band. Recommending this to anyone who is a fan of alternative rock or just music in general.

I agree. It sounds fantastic. The bass is more controlled compared to the MOV reissue.

Fantastic sounding LP. Very little surface noise and a standard size jacket. Very wide sound. The drums in "I Need You" really hit you in the gut.

Pressing sounds flat. Not a lot of fidelity on this one I’m afraid.

I’m fairly certain that the 2005 version does not have an insert. Also it has the labels on the opposite sides compared to this. I also believe that it does not have the ”Don’t make me beg” easter egg on the back of the cover.

This is a good pressing. As this album was produced in a shitty way it will sound like crap no matter what medium you are playing it on. This pressing is probably the better of two evils I would say. I think that this pressing has a bit more punch, a bit ... See full review

Doesn't sound that different to the CD. However, the sound is clear, balanced and punchy. Everything sounds hi-res and there is good instrument separation. Sounds teriffic on my Rega RP3 turntable. I recommend.

Sounds like they used the same master as the CD. It's also relatively low in volume so clicks and pops are louder.
