FYI, the Canadian pressing doesn't include a lyric inner sleeve.

Pressing from approx. 1976. Same stampers and cover as the original pressing on GRT

Same! My copy has heavy sibilance on Lado (Side) B. Pressings with Discos Continental tend to have issues like this.

No inner sleeve. UA was cheap in Canada - their issues usually lacked the bells and whistles seen in American pressings. My copy came with a plain inner sleeve.

My copy has a skull tattoo cover variation as well...

Pro tip: This mid-80s reissue was pressed with the same stampers that made the pricey and lauded late 70s PVC issue. Pick it up if you see it for a reasonable price.

This single (like all IA releases of the period), while amazing, was mastered at a lower volume level than most singles of the time period. Expect to hear surface noise on the B-Side (Splash 1) because of this.

Having owned both, I can confirm that the Canadian mono pressing was pressed from the same stampers as https://www.discogs.com/The-Seeds-A-Web-Of-Sound/release/3282791

Fantastic reissue. Can't say enough good things about it.

Fantastic reissue, so much better than the Scorpio pressing from 2001-2002.

From what I understand, yes - but I don't think there was any other option. The estate did a fantastic job, and it's probably going to be the best it can be, unless a time machine is invented to go back to the early 1970s

The tapes don't exist. They haven't since 1974 when the company who originally manufactured/pressed this (Custom Fidelity) threw them all out.

Amazing. Never thought I'd have a legitimate reissue of this LP in my hands.

Some of these Canadian pressings are fantastic. It seems like they shipped the plates (and covers) to Canada!

Is there any information available on when each of the specific songs were recorded?

True stereo mix. I have reason to believe that a few of the tracks are alternate takes, or at least guitar/vocal parts.

Good to hear. Some of my polysom pressings, I guess, were made 3-4 years ago so that makes sense. Thank you for the heads up.

Best reissue of 2019, IMO - just as good as Mr. Bongo, in terms of reissue quality. Hope Patuá Discos can put out more Brazilian gems like this one.

The French pressing sounds really good - I can't compare it to an OG, but the vinyl is pretty quiet, and it sounds better than the Brazilian CD reissue

Not totally convinced that this is a repress. The "original" Canadian issue listed is, in fact, an american pressing.

A transitional press. The A-Side is deep groove, while the B-Side is not (!)

They use the same format + sleeve design for all their releases - it's a matter of design. Be grateful that they have done such a good job with the reissue.

Do both variants primarily exist with the promo-embossed sleeve? Is it possible that they were pressed in and around the same time, given the sudden ending of the band?

This European pressing is wonderful - no issues whatsoever. There must have been better quality control, or at least a different master used for this pressing vs. the American one that came out in 2017.

Based on serial/matrix number, this appears to have been released in Japan in 1971.

I can confirm that this edition does NOT have a Van Gelder matrix . The runout is specific to this Canadian pressing (9027-9163)
