Good to hear. Some of my polysom pressings, I guess, were made 3-4 years ago so that makes sense. Thank you for the heads up.

Best reissue of 2019, IMO - just as good as Mr. Bongo, in terms of reissue quality. Hope Patuá Discos can put out more Brazilian gems like this one.

The French pressing sounds really good - I can't compare it to an OG, but the vinyl is pretty quiet, and it sounds better than the Brazilian CD reissue

Not totally convinced that this is a repress. The "original" Canadian issue listed is, in fact, an american pressing.

A transitional press. The A-Side is deep groove, while the B-Side is not (!)

sounds a little more futzed with than the 2012 reissue

They use the same format + sleeve design for all their releases - it's a matter of design. Be grateful that they have done such a good job with the reissue.

Do both variants primarily exist with the promo-embossed sleeve? Is it possible that they were pressed in and around the same time, given the sudden ending of the band?

Sounds great. My copy, however, arrived slightly warped and pressed off-center.

Gatefold cardstock sleeve, with no paper inner? Not the best idea.

A-Side is a cover of King Floyd's "What Our Love Needs"

This European pressing is wonderful - no issues whatsoever. There must have been better quality control, or at least a different master used for this pressing vs. the American one that came out in 2017.

Great reissue - much better than the Mariposa CD that came out in 2005/06.

Based on serial/matrix number, this appears to have been released in Japan in 1971.

I can confirm that this edition does NOT have a Van Gelder matrix . The runout is specific to this Canadian pressing (9027-9163)

My copy came with scuffs from heavy paper sleeves, but TBH it sounds great - at least similar to the waxpoetics repress from 2009. The OG is a lo-fi recording with lots of distortion, etc

Any word on if the stereo is a "processed" mono mix or true stereo?
posted a comment on Gloria Barnes - Uptown. about 1 year ago
My copy has zero scuffs - whether or not it's vinyl sourced, it sounds better than the iTunes download or whatever is floating around. Ace reissue all the way!!

This stereo mix is really underrated, and tastefully done - with some thought put into the mix.

This pressing, using US-printed covers and Canadian-pressed vinyl, contains the first version/mix of the album. It appears to be a transitional release, where the first issue Canadian vinyl (the Canadian labels are pre-1969) was combined with the second ... See full review

My personal copy has two a-side (!) labels, and no drummer picture in the gatefold. I also heard a rumour that some copies skip on track A6, "Take Me" (mine doesn't). Can anyone verify this?

High quality reissue. The original Mr. Bongo reissue from last year is amazing as well, but this would be the equivalent to a Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab press. Incredible in every way.
