I love Saint Etienne, but "Mondo Casino" is in so many ways a huge letdown for fans. While some of the selections are very hard to find, a handful have been included as vinyl rips, with some at the wrong speed - an unforgivable choice in almost any case, ... See full review

The original Casino Classics (1996) includes the full version - readily available on CD for very cheap - as does the CD single. Like A Motorway (full length) is the same on the singles, the original (1996), the deluxe editions (2002) and now this. BONUS ... See full review

Vocals are the same but the production is pretty distinct. Only "Cherry" has the guitar melody.

They use the same vocal, but the production differs pretty heavily. "I Can't Keep Running" is rather stripped compared "Cherry" (which adds a guitar melody throughout). Two songs from one...

Not sure why it's that strange of comment... I agree with the reservations about splitting this across 4 sides. It's not that long of an album, and is built to flow with all of its interludes, so stretching it feels like it loses some of the charm. And ... See full review

No, and not sure they ever will be. Safe Trip hasn't put out any of their releases on CD thus far - just vinyl + digital. I'd love a CD version too, but don't let that keep you from getting it - it's a wonderful collection (and unless you know the tracks ... See full review

This is a wonderful edition of the classic album. High quality pressing with great sound, and the full second album of bonus tracks and live sessions is excellent. This is the version to seek out!

It surprises me that there hasn't been a P5 reissue campaign since 2006, especially considering how much vinyl has risen in popularity in recent years. Not that any new Japanese pressings would be anywhere near affordable, but one can dream...

Would have liked a gatefold for a 3LP set (which arguably could have fit onto 2) - it's a bit tight getting them in and out and seems skimpy compared to some of their other release designs. But it's a great collection, worth hearing and pressed well.

There are six unique segments / audio snippets. Depending on the exact code written out on the particular copy (see the cover), it's a different part of the overall sequence.

By "worst reissue ever made" you mean the high crime of splitting a 58 minute long album into two vinyl records for maximum sound quality? HORRIBLE! Maybe BMG can do them one better and fit a 58 min album AND a 68 min bonus disc onto two records.
posted a comment on Kylie Minogue - Kylie Minogue. 10 months ago
Mentioned above, but vinyl fits about 18 mins per side in good quality, and squeezing more than that starts to compromise sound quality. A 58 minute album should be split over two records for the best sound quality. It's not really debatable unless you ... See full review

It's not ridiculous at all. Vinyl achieves the best sound quality with about 18 mins per side, and can be pushed to ~23 mins a side. Anything above 18 mins and you're compromising part of the sound, so for a mid-90s dance album that is all about rich ... See full review
