These days I feel like quality from RTI and GZ are both suspect. Sometimes it's good, sometimes not, so it's a total crapshoot. Judging by the reviews of the RTI pressing posted thus far, I don't think I'm off base.

The European pressing is done by GZ media. im still shocked and how RTI let this one slide.

distracting surface noise and lots of IGD. sounds much more compressed than the Craft EU MPO Pressing. Would highly recommend tracking down that version instead.

Fantastic reissue that improves upon the original in so many ways. I've owned a few copies of this in my life time and for various reasons I've always found original pressings to be a bit flat when considering the lush dynamic range of the music. the... See full review

I have owned a copy since it first dropped, so it's def the first issue. Just updated this entry with the runouts. Maybe that will help if someone can compare against a later issue.

When it's a RTI vs. GZ pressing I think you should be pretty comfortable going with the RTI

clearly not the same lacquers by the way. Even if you’re not into reading the runouts the credits on the album are very specific.

I can't argue with the comments here praising the sound. And at ~$20 that's tough to beat for such high quality. In my opinion Garrison in particular has never sounded so good than on this version.

However, I am stunned that no one has mentioned the... See full review

most hip-hop albums are DMM actually. a lacquer cut for the genre is on the rare side (DMM was the standard for cutting in the 90s and 00s). i don't disagree that a lacquer cut is probably going to be better, but saying a DMM cut for a digital source... See full review
