Apparently this track was co-produced by Jovonn but he wasn't credited for it. Sad times.

It's much closer to the last 3 tracks off of 'Linear Accelerator' if anything, sparse, melodic, detailed. The sound texture is also pretty different to me ears. The emotional element and quality of this album is very different too.

So much of this album sounds like Casiopea to me... like almost a carbon copy. 'Breaking Point' and 'I Need Your Love' in particular.
Sounds more 'Fusion' than 'Disco' to my ears. |

Regular black version out 4th February. . . . .

Honestly, most of it is lesser known to be fair. Maybe a good / strange place to start would be the Vibert/Simmonds albums or the Voafose album? Just start randomly clicking on the releases until something jumps out I say!

Repress! Repress! Repress! . . . . . . .

If it is to be believed that Drexciya was always Stinton/Donald and their birth years were 69/80 then they would have only been 23/12 when this was released... absolutely nuts. I can't get over the idea of Gerald Donald releasing his most iconic music...

Repress, impress with repress, down with the repression, repress stop messin'.

I could be completely wrong but to me this sounds like either it's James Stinson alone, or working with others (including Gerald Donald, Aux 88 etc). It doesn't sound like it's simply Drexciya under another name.
Has their been any evidence either... See full review |

Just a quick warning, a lot of these tracks are alternative versions / remixes (even if not stated as so on the record). Would be nice if they credited whoever did the mixing and let people know what these particular versions are called.

I so wish these soundtracks included the original 'Time After Time' rather than this odd cover. Obviously some licensing issue but it's just weird to hear a song from the film, that is also not a song in the film.
Freakin idiots, gosh! |

We'd have to just delete these 2021 versions. Simple as that. I'll get on it.

2021 repress finally seems to be landing, has the same runout grooves. Sounds great. Comes with poly-lined sleeves.

Has this release been confirmed either way to be the work of a duo? I see the 'thank you' section makes it sound like a solo effort (maybe this was deliberate misguidance or the thanks were from just one of the duo?).

Can anyone confirm that this 2018 pressing is MPO and mastered by CGB??
Just got a copy and mine has 'SIMON - THE EXCHANGE VINYL' in the runout grooves. Will happily rectify and add all the runout info if someone can confirm their copy also has this.... See full review |

Should these re-presses really have separate posts? They're from the same stampers and have the same matrix numbers etc right? There is no difference, it's just been pressed again...

Thanks for saving me some dosh!! (more words more words)

Word of warning, I have received two copies of this and both were very badly warped / dished. Both records raise off the turntable by 5mm (!) every rotation. Anyone else have this issue??

Buying in 2021, and it sounds incredible. Sad to hear of others having issues with their copies but mine is one of the quietest records I own. I own the original, the remastered CD, and tape... and this sounds the best of the bunch.

Going to put my two cents in and say that my copy is pretty crackly even after a thorough cleaning and playing. Pretty disappointed when all is said and done. Not sure if it's due to the marbling effect or if it is simply a crackly master that wasn't...

Does this run at 33.3 or 45? I just picked up Tekken 2 and was shocked to see Side A has 13 tracks running at 45 RPM!

A darker and less romantic set of tracks when compared to the first game's soundtrack. This makes it less of an easy listen and overall is likely to be listened to less (at least by myself) but there are still nice moments here. It's just not as...

Almost certain it said limited to 400 when it was first put on Bandcamp, but you're right, it doesn't currently say that. Maybe to stop scalpers? Who knows.
