A much harsher but ultimately more rewarding release than Ginger, Public Energy is Jochem Paap at his best. The distorted rhythmic textures and delicately underpinned with melody.

This is a good introduction to Autechre and their sound. A dreamy, atmospheric almost ambient album with hints of industrial. This album is wonderful, particularly Montreal, but this is most definitely not their best work to date.
