This pressing is good, but the original recording was 100% digital, and digital is how it sounds.

There's not a big difference between the CD and LP in terms of sound.

The pressing sounds absolutely great.Period.

The album cover, on the other end, lacks absolutely everything except for the front and back covers: No inner sleeves, no artwork... not even the tracklist is printed anywhere except the record labels.

The selection of tracks is pretty good. Apart from the well known superhits, there are a few songs that complete the picture of the SOS band's career from the 70s disco era to the electro age in the 80s.

Each song is mixed to the next one in a creative ... See full review

A unique album joining the talents of the best Quincy Jones team -Bruce Sweiden, Rod Temperton, Patti Austin, etc..- to make a George Benson in one of his best moments shine like the star he is.

More than aging well, some songs are becoming timeless.

This is a superb release. The gatefold is made of strong cardboard, carefully printed, and the vinyil pressing is 1st class. The sound quality is outstanding.

The selection of songs is pretty accurate for someone new to have an idea of the vast variety of styles that this artist was able to hold.

Regarding the record, for a 180g LP compilation that is supposed to sound with all the bells and whistles of a ... See full review

The album is supposed to be cut from analog and, in some aspects, it sounds like it is. The horns, for instance, have a point of warm saturation. The sound is loud and clear overall. The mix is stereo and is old-fashioned, meaning some parts are highly ... See full review

The mix is highly balanced, but that was the usual mixing technique in the late 60s. You can always revert to mono in your mixer or amp (usually, on hi-fi amps there's a mono/stereo switch somewhere). The other way around is impossible :)

Excellent album. Is this pressing the original analog mono or remastered in stereo?

Definitely stereo. And most probably remastered.

The transitions between tracks are mostly ridiculous for today's standards, especially due to the 80s trend to overuse and abuse sampled vocals. A good record, even with that.

The vocal version featured on this 12" is not the one with the classic "let there be House" speech. Instead, it contains a different song performed by Robert Owens on top of the instrumental.

B side contains the standard instrumental version.

I was following this band during the late 90s and the first 2000s, via an artist promotion website named star polish dot com. They had a few amazing jazzy tunes, like Secret Butterflies.

One day, they disappeared and so did the site that hosted the ... See full review

Hi,

I'm just pasting my previous comment:

"The sound quality is exceptionally good for a compilation LP. I even have a copy of Phuture's Acid Trax in 12" and used to play this one because it sounds louder and better. "

Hope it helps :)
