Amazing that not one of the copies on sale here - for up to £70 more than the original retail price - appear to have any of the warping issues that dominate the comments here. These sellers must’ve got really lucky.

Both tracks are immense, though Immersion 1 just about edges it for me. Pacey, melodic, deep techno bliss that rolls and bubbles in true Deepchord style. Another unmissable release from a label that's cemented itself at the pinnacle of contemporary ... See full review

I wonder what you would say if Derrick asked you to do it? ;)

I'd say: "Dezza, me old mate - some things just need to be left alone. "Icon" is one of those things."

Remastered versions of tracks from this seminal release: https://www.discogs.com/S-Bicknell-Lost-Recordings-1-Why-For-Whom/master/185368

This was the sound of LOST, basically.

I for one am glad to have brand new versions of these tracks, since despite ... See full review

Without this, there is no Surgeon, Regis, BMB or "Birmingham sound." Each and every one of us owe a huge debt of gratitude to James Pennington. This is without doubt his best release, way ahead of it's time and a jewel in the UR catalogue. Immense.

I bought this record when it first came out, from Apple Records in Croydon, which was run by John Kennedy, the regular (superb) warm up DJ at Lost. I was in there all the time as I worked in Croydon and it was an excellent way to spend your lunch hour. ... See full review

Mills was playing it on white label for years before he released it. It's "Untitled A" on "Live At The Liquid Rooms" which was recorded in 1995. That would have been the first time that it was heard outside of a club environment.

Mills was playing "The Bells" since at least 1993 - it appeared on "Live At the Liquid Rooms", recorded in late 1995, as "Untitled A." It wasn't released officially until 1997.

Anyone who saw Mills perform would have heard him play it, but during the ... See full review

This is, without doubt, one of the best mix cd's to be released commercially. Pullen expertly mixes, melds, mutates and layers loads of fantastic, and in large part underplayed techno gems to great effect and with undeniable energy.

There's a strong ... See full review

The Bells was being played on white label by Mills since at least 1993, a long time before it was officially released. Sure, it's not that deep, but to say it's an "attempt to dig into Europe's craze for the hypnotic trancy stuff" is rubbish. Virtually ... See full review

Fantastic release for both Surface records, and Epoch (aka Phase). Organic, tonal, restrained, impeccably produced and downright funky to boot. Serious stuff, that's why I have heard it played by quite a few DJ's.

"Run" has to be the best DJ Funk track ever - perhaps on a par with "Work That Body" - the latter being much more reminiscent of Funk's style, and that of Chicago house music. "Run" however, is a huge departure from that sound; deep, pumping, melodic and ... See full review
