To this day I still haven’t bought a Four Men With Beards LP. All because people seem so dissatisfied with them.

Going off coloured vinyl, you know. Too often a dodgy press. That and 180gm....with the tendency to warp, I find.
Didn’t happen so much in the 70s and 80s, eh?

Yep but don’t forget it’s there for us forever. It only feels gone because the industry has moved on to the shit stuff you’re referring to. Forget the industry zeitgeist. Enjoy good music in your own space and time. To me this track like much of the best ... See full review

If you have a sentimental soft spot for the music in this film you’ll LOVE this soundtrack album.
I adore the themes themselves as they are in the movie but hearing the instrumentation, the voices, the plaintive whistle in isolation....it all engages the ... See full review

Didn’t realise this issue was pressed by GZ till now.
My copy is good quality and sounds great!
I gave it three stars as it’s not essential music. Bought to complete by Bond/Connery soundtracks. :)

This and the Gronland reissue of Neu! 2 both sound great to me pressings-wise.
The recordings are lo-fi in any case, it’s hardly Dark Side Of The Moon full band width and open!
Point is, the vinyl quality is GOOD. In an era of poor vinyl pressings.

Methinks you are having a laugh? The time signatures comment gives it away somewhat. Ha ha.
Nice pressing btw.

Can anyone else vouch for their white vinyl copy having occasional splatters of black here and there?

A worthwhile musical statement. If this is her last one ever, so be it, and so glad of it as Bulletproof Heart would’ve been a dire way to finish
Five stars....due to the truly mesmerising dub CD. Stands up to deep listening.

GJ’s worst album by quite a margin. For completist mugs only, like me. :)

Sounds great to my music-producing, engineering ears.....for an over-compressed 1967 recording with barely any separation and, as another comment added, no doubt a dormant snare rattling, a jazz drummer’s ride under so much of it. I can’t hear any whoosh ... See full review

Wonderful quality pressing. These incredible songs were all mushy on my late seventies Polydor reissue (now exiting my collection and going straight to Ebay!). At last this music is alive. No Hendrix fan would be disappointed. Surely?

Almost twenty years ago I introduced a Beatle co-nut friend to XTC (who became suitably besotted with them) by playing him Side 2 of Oranges And Lemons and summarising the lay of the XTC band with this never-forgotten quip....”well Paul, songwriting-wise ... See full review

The world tour at this time was wonderful. The album though is a patchy LP with only three or four tracks worth listening to. I was disappointed with it when it came out. And now I can’t imagine ever putting it on. For all Mark’s expressive playing on ... See full review

I’ve just acquired this record at long last. If I’d bought it at the time, aged rather a lot younger than I am now of course, I would’ve been very miffed to find there was no Special Limited Edition 12” Dance Mix at all. Mind you I can’t imagine Langer ... See full review

Probably the most daring Stranglers album. They dared to defy all the expectations of everyone at a time when people were shouting louder to be heard. They dared also to weed out all the fans who liked them only for their more aggressive tunes.

Tainted Love and Blue Monday have not dated because they never give the damn things a rest for long enough. AON was always for the geeks like me anyway. But those two records, they’re like the meerkats. Wherever you go, like it or not, they turn up. So ... See full review

Kraftwerk isn’t for the dance floor anyway. It’s got da funk along the way, yes...but the timid sound you talk of is what defines it as much as the clinical purity of it. It’s mechanistic motoric music which just so happened to engage giants of hip hop ... See full review
