I have done an A/B comparison of this versus the Simply Vinyl pressing, and this smokes the SV pressing, hands down. Everything I have purchased from MOV sounds great.

i have had 2 copies go bad, but it happened when i cleaned it with record cleaning fluid. i have never seen a record do this, and there are many people leaving the same comment, so...let's hope they reissue it.

RE: BAD PRESSING

oddly, i have LS and the hollis album on ba da bing, and they both sound great. i also have an original (greek) pressing of LS, and the ba da bing press sounds just as good.

Oddly, the Drag City reissue is an almost exact replica of the original pressing on Royal records. Drag City's name/logo is nowhere to be found on it; in fact, it even says "Royal" Records like the original. I just compared the two, and the only way to ... See full review

Although credited, Dan Luscombe did not play on this album. He wasn't in the band yet.

yes, and laughing stock is already out-of-print, if you can believe that! you can still find them for reasonable prices, but i'll bet that won't last long. grab one while you can!

yes, there are bootlegs floating around, as this_is_a_document has noted. be careful!

beyond that, this is one of the best records i have ever heard. the follow-up, laughing stock, is just as good. also worth owning is mark hollis' solo album, which ... See full review

Of all the pressings I have owned of this record, this Simply Vinyl pressing sounds the best. Great packaging too. Good luck finding one though, as they are hard to come by.

it should be a crime that "heavy liquid" was so overlooked. even the truncated version (read: radio ready) of this song cannot mask the brilliance, "down in the hole" is a great tune as well. both are taken from their last/final record, the very crystal ... See full review

A little known fact: this was licensed from Ryko by a small label in Brazil (Natasha, Natascha, or Natacha??) and pressed on vinyl. Copies are next to impossible to find (I've seen maybe 3-4 pop up on eBay in the last 15 years), so if anyone has one ... See full review
