Was a hiphop kid in the 80s. Used to DJ in the mid 90s which is why I own a lot of house/techno. My main interest really is IDM/Braindance and always has been.

Actually Ken once said that the title of the album refers to how quickly dance music (in its forms of that time) had been absorbed into the world of advertisements on TV etc

Oh. "Neo Ouija" has now changed back to "Psychonavigation Records". Just keeping a history of what's going on here. Definitely some strangeness by the owner of this label though.

Neo Ouija just changed Psychonavigation Records' website. Hold tight everyone, the universe has gone INSANE.

How confusing. An irate customer of Neo Ouija? Very bizarre indeed!!

Why would Neo Ouija say that that comment is slanderous? Or even be interested in the 'slanderous' nature of that comment? I fail to see the link.

One of the great Rephlex releases. Really stood out in its time, lots of little techno/electro tunes with a great atmosphere. The beats are unrelenting at times but are always coupled with a retro 80s electronic feel. The final track is a great throwback ... See full review

The follow-up to the even more gorgeous "More Beautiful Human Life" by Uzect Plaush on Apollo. This is not quite as atmospheric, but still very worth purchasing.

Limited to 5000. This is one of my favourite ambient albums of all time, I love the fact that they've taken sounds from their natural surroundings to make a lot of the tracks. An incredible album.

A crazy and much-sampled by dance musicians album. Just listen to the production on the last track "Mountain Of Needles", it is incredible the amount of reverb at a couple of points in the track when there are slightly louder sounds. The sounds just seem ... See full review

Luke Slater before he went commercial. If you want early braindance/techno then this release is an excellent example. The first track "X-Tront" was written with Alan Sage and is very very braindancey. Excellent.

Outstanding track. An amazing mix of drum'n'bass and UK styled garage but it sounds like it was made ten years from now. Amongst the best Squarepusher release.

Thank God for Warp Records in a time of factory produced pop-acts (read: puppets) and the music industry churning out the same old risk-free blandness. They are a big big beacon of hope for real good music.

This really is the best. From the dark abstract twisted ambient of "Hangable Auto Bulb" to the brilliant melodic masterpiece of "Laughable Butane Bob" this release never fails to impress and is gonna be very important in music history I think.

This was my first exposure to drill'n'bass. I bought this 12" on the day it came out in hmv. Took it home and when I put the B side on with the aphex remix I was completely blown away, i couldn't really get a grip on what I was hearing. It prepared me ... See full review

Another groundbreaking album from Aphex. Bought it when it came out (have the limited brown coloured vinyl which comes with four aphex twin stickers) and listened to it all the way through completely astounded at what I was hearing. If you could record ... See full review

First time I heard Hiphop and IDM together in the same track was on the Funkstorung remix here and it sounded fantastic. And still does.

I too love this 12" and I also was very lucky to pick it up in the record store on the day it came out. I was out shopping and had heard mention of Boards of Canada but didn't have any of their releases, I saw this record and saw that it featured them so ... See full review

An old email from The Black Dog suggests that if the remixes seem a little sparse on this release, it's because they couldn't get clearance to use a lot of the samples and sounds they wanted to use.

I have to agree this is amongst their best. The second track "storsender" is absolutely beautiful, very desolate sounding, crackly. The way everything drops out and then the bassline fades in and the beats come back in always makes me smile. Very nice.

Released when Black Dog was only Ken Downie (no Ed or Andy unfortunately). Still a great release however.

Surely this must be the Black Dog's greatest work. A masterpiece from start finish, it's very hard to categorize the music, but there is a definite Egyptian feel to some of the tracks. A must have album.

Mad mad mad gabba-esque music. Squarepusher's earliest release I think. A note is etched around the middle of this record "It's a rumble out there"
