Fast rhythms or sweet songs but always swirling guitars and lovely mélodies. Razorcuts has become one of my favorites.

One can ear in "Music For Films" some of the instruments, effects and atmospheres that were used and created in "Low" or "Heroes", well, principally in "Low", which was recorded around the same time. Still, "Music For Films" is less finite.

As an early fan and owner of their first three albums, plus the rare 'Plus de Liaisons' 7", I was a bit disappointed to hear a lot of alternate but known tracks. On the other hand, the rest of the songs is of very high interest and beauty.

Tell me if I'm wrong but the Chicago's Twisted Mix by Ron T. and Chez D. must have been pretty influential as far as the emerging Maurizio sound was concerned. Listen to the deep string slowly fading up and feel the ever growing resonating minimal chord. ... See full review

Somehow, I never fully appreciated the work of Wim Wenders as a film maker, but you have to admit that his musical tastes are very good.
Take this soundtrack. Here you have the cream of the pop and rock scenes from the 1980s trying to catch the mood of ... See full review

Ok Emperors Main Course is a great tune but it's only a version of the original track by David Byrne, with added beats and a few scratches here and there. Do yourself a favour and buy The Last Emperor OST, you'll have great music from Byrne and Sakamoto.

I bought this record for the sole I-level track, easily one of my favorite house track at the time (though I couldn't identify it when heard in clubs or on the radio). Hypnotic chords, a deep 4/4 beat with claps every 2 step, a bass line à la Larry ... See full review

As I enjoy instrumental hip hop I thought I would have liked this release but listening to it was quite deceptive... In fact this CD gives what it promises... bare instrumentals, no added value, no dub style effects. So much so that I missed the lyrics ... See full review
