I guess this was just one of those major label compos that had caught the rave buzzword in the UK that year which was "hardcore", but didn't exactly understand what comprised Hardcore music outside of a couple of the more commercial rave tunes that had ... See full review

Giving this a re-listen, I've got to say that early Lab 4 made some simply stunning Acid Trance. Their Pod releases merely hint at the genius to come. RTH is the more accessable of the two tracks, but the remixes are lacking the fun of the original, ... See full review

Why oh why did this wonderful trance-techno band not get more recognition. Psy trance is a genre full of imitation to the extent that I rarely listen to it anymore it's so boring, but this pair really went places with it, never wanting ot be tied down ... See full review

'Ave Some of That is a great good-times thumping Hi-NRG/Acid Trance number from Viking Hatted EFS loonies The Secret.
A great brooding intro with helicoptor samples, which launches into an atmospheric track that just keeps building layer upon layer ... See full review

A rumbling tribal beat kicks off Spinbomb, the stand-out track on this rare vinyl release by the Compassion Family, but it quickly transforms into an unusual swirly Psy melody, before a fast driving baseline indicates that this is no run-of the mill Goa ... See full review

The name of the rabbit was not reported, well not until the remix anyway, but this was the legend of a beautiful girl called Chang-Oh who was banished to the moon for stealing the pill of immortality from her husband. We were advised to look out for her ... See full review

"Close your eyes, it's time to fly, come with me to the other side!" Jez Turner's Tribal Energy bangs out a corker of an A-Side here, skippy and dancable, though perhaps too acidic and long to be a true classic. A time and a place track - mid 90's, ... See full review

This obscure Acid Techno release on a UK branch of US based Amnesia, is a true gem. Renegades is a classic squawker, in that trademark warm but agressive London style, while Face the Speaker is a darker rumbling bassline track with less 303, but again ... See full review

While I'm not a fan of the second and third tracks, Drop the Kontrabass stands out as one of those tracks I wished I owned when getting mental to it at a faceless squat party somewhere in Europe during the mid-90's.

It represents a genre that never ... See full review

A good solid slice of techno, but nothing special. The moniker "Dead Terrapins" came about after the label boss's girlfriend left her pet terrapins in his care, they subsequently died due to neglect around the time of the track's release.

DJ Clarkee should have stuck with this style as he did it so well. Extremely hard, but warm. Acid techno-trance that utterly destroyed dancefloors. The title track "Rock Da House" with it's time stretched sample of the title, is a brilliantly composed ... See full review
