I think a lot of it has to do with the turntable and stylus too. 10 to 15 years ago, when I was using entry-level or slightly better turntables, along with the first stylus that came up in a search, I dealt with pops, crackle and skipping. Maybe with... See full review

Ordered from Amazon, and no complaints–flat vinyl with no surface noise. (My inner sleeves did split slightly in shipping, and that's annoying, but absolutely no complaints on the vinyl.)

Between this and last year's Roxy set, it's been nice to see... See full review

The reason 4AD released this collection is because the original plan in 1980 was to release the studio tracks as an EP and a live LP. Now we finally have everything, almost 40 years later.

If you have the CD version, “Rema Rema” on Extended Wheel In... See full review

Sound quality is very, very good. No crackles or noise in my copy.

I have the original 4AD UK pressings of Surfer Rosa and Come On Pilgrim to compare against (along with the original US 4AD/Rough Trade of Surfer Rosa).

No whooshing here. I’d really rather have black vinyl when it comes to Interpol anyway.

The album itself has a lot of their best stuff since the early days, but suffers from a mid-album dry spell of 4 or 5 songs and inappropriate Fridmann... See full review

A year and a half later and people are still paying insane prices for this variant. I really thought more copies would make it out into the wild, but apparently not. I guess us folks who pre-ordered on Amazon lucked out.

From the looks of the fonts and label design, I’d say this has to be a late ‘70s/early ‘80s reissue.

I believe there was a vinyl re-pressing in 1980, so it wouldn’t surprise me if this tape was manufactured that year.

How bizarre to add “You’re... See full review

Got this in the mail today from my pre-order. It's a wonderful-sounding pressing, and they did a great job of picking out the best alternate takes from the original box set.

Will this be getting a proper US release? Has Matador dropped her? If so, the timing is too bad. I think Matador signed her for music that sounds like this but got The Future's Void and #HORROR OST instead. Hopefully Matador, or some US label, will be... See full review

Not much of an “anniversary” reissue. It seems the only motivation for releasing it was to get the vinyl back in print, as the 2007 vinyl release commands insane prices on the used market, despite complaints about the mastering (on the US version,... See full review

I have two copies of College Dropout on vinyl. One has serious skips, or actually skating from excessive bass, when played on a low-end or average turntable. On my mid-70s vintage Marantz turntable, it will play with maybe one skip. The second copy I... See full review

Me again...a trip through my Spin Clean did clear up the pops and the skip. So at least it wasn't a problem with the pressing itself.

I was all prepared to hate this. Even though I've been a huge Big Star fan for 20-plus years, there is a limit to how many times the same songs from three albums can be compiled, yet again. And I noticed that it's heavy on the first album at the... See full review

Total running time is 56:27, and that does seem a bit long to be squeezing on to two sides of vinyl. On the other hand, 50-some minute albums were put on single-LPs all the time back in the beginning of the CD era, and those came out OK (Def Leppard's... See full review

I agree, the sound is excellent. I have a pretty high-end (for its day) tape deck in my all-Marantz stereo setup, and a well-mastered cassette sounds great on it. I don't have any other Burger Records releases, but in general I've found that a lot of... See full review

Pretty sure they mean "reissue" in the sense that the album originally came out in 1967, not a reissue of a previous 2x45PM LP version.
