When I was a little child I was very interested in music. My dad listened to 50’s and 60’s music, so I grew up with music from that period. In the early 80’s I was a big fan of Supertramp, and as a 3 year old boy I could sing all of the lyrics in phonetic English. In the late 80’s I got a recorder and that was the beginning of my new hobby, collecting music.

The “Turn up the Bass” series introduced me to the world of electronic music, Rap, Hip Hop and House. I bought Arcade’s first House Party. When I heard it for the first time I was in total shock. I thought I had bought a CD with 48 tracks but all of the tracks were mixed. I didn’t make sense to me.

In the beginning of that period, my nephew was a collector and DJ in house music. I was impressed he used vinyl. He was the person that gave me my first lessons of mixing. I was 12 years old and I wanted to be a DJ!

At the age of 14 I bought my own turntables and I started buying records. At that period Gabber was hot and I bought Gabber. ‘Till I was 18 years old I played Gabber music. When Gabber wasn’t successfull anymore I quit playing records for a couple of years. But after 2 years I re-discovered the mysterie of vinyl again. Since then I built out my own record collection in a variety of different styles and formats.
