This isn't a picture disc it is, as jough.dempsey correctly assesses, splatter coloured vinyl.

Bit of a ragbag of an lp but when the trio are on form the form is formidable, almost modal, jazz. Whisper Not, Something To Remember You By and Shuffle Baby would be my three top picks. The last in that list is a Dollimore original, it's the only one on ... See full review

This is an adequate collection of baroque folk guitar duets. The musicianship is incredible, both Grossman and Renbourn are masters of the acoustic guitar. That is indisputable. What is the issue with this lp is a lack of diversity or edge that would ... See full review

Lightnin' Hopkins's musical swagger is in part born through lack of rigour. The fact that any jam presented here feels as if it could fall apart in the next bar only adds to the excitement. Unflustered and unrehearsed; there's a jerk and everyone is back ... See full review

Nice prog folk album this. Varied both in terms of instrumentation and choice of songs. The inclusion of a Beatles cover is at first glance perhaps a little surprising but it is performed beautifully. The musicianship of the band is incredible but I feel ... See full review

A little too major and straightforward for my liking. There are no real stand out tracks on side one; wah wah guitar on Twinkle is pretty right on though. Side two is much the same, very cheesy. The two Hawkshaw cuts are diverting but nothing ... See full review

Donald Byrd is a stunning trumpeter and the band match his prowess on this record. The writing is also eaquisite. It is a soulful, funked up jazz and in places some of the best that I have listened to. I played this to friends at house parties who have ... See full review

Being a huge fan of the b-sides of OK Computer, I was really pleased when Capitol made the decision to re-issue these singles. Karma Police on the a-side; what more to say. It's a confirmed classic. On the flip side, Meeting In The Aisle. With hindsight ... See full review

Jimi Hendrix plays bass on this, but not just any bass. He plays an 8 string bass. That alone should justify checking out this set of raw, garage rock style, jams.
The genesis of this record is not 100% clear to me, but it sounds like pre production or ... See full review

This is a wacky lp, at points in the literal cartoonesque meaning. At the same time it is a masterful workout in advanced techniques of turntablism. But not in a scratchathon over some sweet jazz-funk. It shows a musician pushing the boundaries of their ... See full review

This is music of a truly exquisite standard. On the sleeve you see one track, over twenty two minutes, modal jazz and you might think; this could be a bit pretentious. Don’t. There are stunning and elegant sections throughout this album. Interplay ... See full review

Sloppy faux American bluesy porridge. The most infuriating aspect is that this album feels as though it might take off, but never does. Muddy sound and drab lyrical content do nothing for, what amounts to, a collection of unmemorable pieces of music.
