What equipment were you using? I have not opened mine yet, but based on other reviews I think there is a great likelihood that it isn't the mastering.

I spied one of these at my local Barnes and Noble a year or so ago, but passed over it. I recently heard some of the music again and felt like it would be great to have it on vinyl. I popped into my local Barnes and Noble again and it was right where I ... See full review

I just found this one in seemingly NM condition at my local shop for $15. I have seen it in the wild before, but not one with a booklet and printed inners intact. Score!

I haven't heard another pressing, but this one is excellent. Great soundstage and extremely quiet background.

Not an audiophile recording, but a terrific performance with surprisingly pleasing sound.

I really enjoy Grant Green, but sides C and D really show off this funky side of him. I was less familiar with that because I mainly have heard his early 60s output and sideman work with some others. This is a fantastic sounding record. Very alive and ... See full review

I am pretty astounded with this release. When I saw this on RSD, I was pretty sure I would buy it simply based on the artwork, recognizing some of the great players, and the fact that it was advertised as having been mastered from the original analog ... See full review

The recent Closing Time remaster, which I believe was done by the same team, suffers from all the same issues.

There are 7500 and an identical (aside from a foil number) release coming soon after RSD. I think everyone who wants it will get it.

If you still need this I have one. I have to check but I think it is vg+.

Yes, can we please get some label pictures and matrix numbers on this release? I got a jacket that matches the description, but also Epic labels.

I picked this up a few weeks ago and was pretty peeved when it seemed to be very noisy with a lot of consistent ticking. I have it a wash and all the noise is gone. Much happier now. Solid pressing!

Really nice record. Gorgeous music played by master musicians. Especially love Don Byron and Marc Ribot. Well recorded and pretty high quality records - not as well done as the follow-up, but higher quality than most releases in this price range.

I saw Michael Fremer's review of this and then saw the people who guest on the record, plus the low prices, and bought it immediately (along with The Bright Mississippi). I am beyond pleased with everything about the record. Gorgeous and imaginative ... See full review

This is a really well made record - from the arrangements, to the playing and singing, to the engineering and mastering. Really gorgeous recording.

I really could not be happier with this record set. I have an original pressing in excellent condition, but this is one instance where I think the reissue sounds more dynamic and alive. It is probably the best sounding live recording I have on vinyl.

I picked one of these up yesterday because it looked VG++/NM-. I am not a huge Billy Joel fan, but I was very impressed with the sound of the album and enjoyed it more in this format than I have on the radio.

I picked this up yesterday, but was hoping to hear some review before cracking it open. How does it sound? I have a pretty good original pressing, but it is a bit crackly. Is this going to be worth getting?

I would really like to hear some more opinions of how this one stacks up against the CD. Is it worth it to get on vinyl?

Can anyone shed light on why this pressing is listed for so much more than the others (including one NM- sale for $125)? I picked up a copy for $5 today and I am reasonable sure it is this one with a P in the matrix.

This pressing is very quiet and sounds pretty good to me. But when I preordered I was under the impression that it was a limited release on splatter colored vinyl. Anyone know what happened?

I found a new copy of this online for a good price and I just received it in the mail. When I opened it I found much more debris than is typical. Instead of small pieces of paper, it seemed like thick animal hair and it almost covered the records. While ... See full review
