Up to around 15 minutes of audio per side does not fit to the LP format, it is a more loud cut.
LP means Long Play microgroove cut. It allows to engrave up to approximately 30 minutes per side on a 12".
Discogs database discriminates between those two formats (see RSG §6.6).
Thereby, even if labels' marketing communication could sometime use 'LP' to notify that the release contains the usual amount of audio for an album, It should be understood as 'Long Playing release', not as 'Long Play cut'.
For example here is two different cuts for the same album:
-Original LP release: Roots
-Same audio material later distributed on a 2X12" 33RPM: Roots
RP means repressed with a master originated from a lacquer that has been used previously, it should only be ticked by providing a link to a previous version sharing the same runouts, or at least a strong source. If none of this information is provided, RE is enough, moreover RE + RP can be used together, if there is a significant time gap between releases.

+1, at least enter the runouts to let us know if it is a different lacquer cut than the 2020 NRP's one that seems to be failed

you mean the US one? and what about the UK, german etc...same lacquer?
|

Nice quite pressing by Optimal. An interesting selection of tracks, A and B sides are very contrasted.

Wow! what a tune ! I'm a horse and I'm smashed
|
![]() |
it's a strong info, why don't update you the entry ?
|
![]() |
it's manufactured in US but pressed in EU, looking at the pressing plant entry
|
![]() |
It seems that EU and US share the same lacquer cut by Ron McMaster
But it's not pressed by GZ nor in EU or US |
![]() |
SkilledInTrouble I guess you confund the Optimal scheme with the current UMG's catalogue scheme. Pay attention, it shows one more digit : ) there's a warning about that on the Optimal's entry.
No trace of a GZ's scheme on this EU pressing nor in the... See full review |

Thanx, it should be usefull to make that warning directly on the concerned entry's comments field (the 1974 RE http://www.discogs.com/release/392597)

Nice mastering from tracks that seems extracted from movies themselves, tracks are blended in a very immersive way, shorts silences between tracks makes a kind of mix into the compilation. Good job !

Very nice cut here, sounds and vocals are clear and very well layered.
I wonder where the the first release was cut ,as there's no runouts entered yet... |

And what about anti skating ? (if you have the adjustement on your turntable, this should be set to same value as weight on needle)
|
![]() |
I wonder if you own the GZ pressing as I just discover my black copy was a US pressing
Also I wonder if the GZ (EU) pressing comes with an heavy card cover... |
