I am afraid I don't quite follow.. My copy only has four tracks on side A and is missing the eponymous title track; so it can't be the same as yours, if that copy has "2010" as the first track on it? Or is just the sleeve like mine?

My copy has developed the same issues over the years. Culprit seems to be the outer PVC sleeve the original record came in with, which chemically interacts with the record over time and damages it unrecoverably. As this seems to be a common problem, ... See full review

My copy has the same label code (A&M Records ‎– AMA 5038), but the first track is missing. The record starts with what is track 2 above, 'Earth/Space'. The index on the outer sleeve reflects that and lists only 4 tracks on side one, starting with ... See full review

may I ask what you did to improve the skipping? It's barely playable to me for the first half of the track.
