I listen to a wide variety of music. A strong base of my taste is Indie Eighties: Depeche Mode, Joy Division > New Order, Sinéad O'Connor, Morrissey, cindytalk, Comsat Angels, Cure, Siouxsie, ALL of pre-millennial 4AD (!!!), Björk, Killing Joke, Diamanda Galás, Talk Talk, Grace Jones, Soft Cell, Echo and the Bunnymen, Bauhaus, PSB, Icehouse. But I do go before and beyond with Yoko Ono, David Bowie, Patti Smith, Death Cab, Sufjan Stevens, MGMT, IDLES and Lana Del Rey. And of course Bach.

You're evading one of the main points about music: People have different taste. This truism is doubly relevant because the album is an anthology representing the diversity of 4AD. Maybe 4AD is OK with listeners disliking some tracks and loving others....

I agree with yasdnir below that The Lion and the Cobra is "probably her very best". IDNWWIHG is a close second, but for me does come second because it doesn’t have Troy. The LionCobra cover portrait says it all.
