Profile

I listen to a wide variety of music. A strong base of my taste is Indie Eighties: Depeche Mode, Joy Division > New Order, Bjork, Comsat Angels, Cure, ALL of pre-millennial 4AD (!!!), Killing Joke, Diamanda Galas, Talk Talk, Grace Jones, Soft Cell, Echo and the Bunnymen, Bauhaus, PSB. But I do go before and beyond with Yoko Ono, David Bowie, Death Cab, MGMT . . .

Adam, I know what you mean with your review, but I'd like to make a few points. [Basically because, I could have easily ‘dropped’ Bowie after the Let’s Dance album. I stutteringly continued and was rewarded with the effort, kind of breaking through... See full review

Just to remark: the double clear vinyl edition of Heathen is still showing on the David Bowie shop website as of today's date - strange, because it doesn't exist.

Thanks for clarifying. You're right - I was saying it with sarcasm, but not that much bad feeling. At the end of the day, PSB are a great duo, I admire them immensely.

Yes, that's right grobelaar, that's how I always took it - on the inner sleeve it clearly shows a sickle and the bound stack of wheat. It represents the 'fruits of labour'. Get the Balance Right, Master and Servant, it's a recurring theme.

Surely the fans already have the singles they most enjoy? Buying them at the time of release, as GLORIOUS FIRST PRESSINGS at a decent price and with their wonderful packaging.

No, they are not identical. The US version of this first album marks the advent of "Icehouse" as their group name. The tracks are remixed, in a different order, different lengths.

Ruined in a remix.

I usually love the possibilities of the 12" remix. The exception is Ruined in a Day. A perfect song, at 4:22, it would have been nice to have an extended version, retaining the emotional strength of the song and offering some... See full review

From 2003 onwards all the releases have 8 tracks.

For what it's worth, I really like this EP and am glad I have bought it. It is NOT one of those oh-too-many-after-death marginal releases of poor quality or little relevance.

I always loved this album, seeing it as a KEY Can album.
