Profile

I listen to a wide variety of music. A strong base of my taste is Indie Eighties: Depeche Mode, Joy Division > New Order, Sinéad O'Connor, Morrissey, cindytalk, Comsat Angels, Cure, Siouxsie, ALL of pre-millennial 4AD (!!!), Björk, Killing Joke, Diamanda Galás, Talk Talk, Grace Jones, Soft Cell, Echo and the Bunnymen, Bauhaus, PSB, Icehouse. But I do go before and beyond with Yoko Ono, David Bowie, Patti Smith, Death Cab, Sufjan Stevens, MGMT, IDLES and Lana Del Rey. And of course Bach.

Calebsc - the star system relates SPECIFICALLY to an individual edition / pressing. That is why the star rating is available on each separate page, for every edition.

So your five star rating is incorporated as a high rating with the other buyers'... See full review

Thanks very much for what you have written. I am not an expert on vinyl sound production, but have collected it for more than four decades, have a grasp of the basics and understand it can be a minefield of technical points and opinions. [It's... See full review

Well, in the spirit of this album, it's understandable you see the dark side of this release, but . . .

When you look at the heading of the Discogs list of Pink Floyd releases it state "1391 releases" – that's phenomenal! So many variants, CDs,... See full review

Hi Ramzy. I was glad when PSB went independent – apparently it lasted three albums. Do you know why they have gone back to Parlophone?

The build-up of Albatross sounds awesome on this vinyl.

It's one of those tracks where production quality can make all the difference to appreciating it properly.

The whole "official" V "unofficial" thing can be confusing on Discogs. Sometimes an "unofficial" item can be sold on Discogs, other times not. Here we have an Urban Outfitters' release of the swelteringly hot, Honeymoon, not for sale because it is... See full review

Redflag77, I’m not sure what the centre of your anger is? Whether it’s over not managing to get a signature (which loads of people aren’t going to get), not managing to get the actual unsigned record, or the idea that sometimes people make some extra... See full review

Going by Aperock's comment, and say he can do four signatures in a minute: he can earn $6,000 an hour.

Good points, I totally agree with you that vinyl is also about the packaging. With Siouxsie and the Banshees’ RSD Join Hands album, it is worth having because of the extra track and the interesting "original" cover artwork. It's fantastic to celebrate... See full review

You're evading one of the main points about music: People have different taste. This truism is doubly relevant because the album is an anthology representing the diversity of 4AD. Maybe 4AD is OK with listeners disliking some tracks and loving others.... See full review

I agree with yasdnir below that The Lion and the Cobra is "probably her very best". IDNWWIHG is a close second, but for me does come second because it doesn’t have Troy. The LionCobra cover portrait says it all.

As many JCRZ remixes are so good (or at least have potential), it seems strange JCRZ hasn't been approached to do an official remix.
