Based in Manchester, Northern Quarter (N1/4), hence the name mcr1!
Often crate digging in USA 1989-1991.
Promoting and booking at a well known Manchester (Mcr) jazz club in the mid 90s.
Record store co-proprietor 1999-2007 Vox Pop Music. Colleagues at the time were all active DJs and of those who produced and released output there are over 1100 credits on submissions on this site linking to their work. A very strong team indeed, good times.

I'm now in the process of listing a few items from my personal collection that will be either doubles, versions I no longer need or "one man's meat is another man's poison" items I've picked up along the way(!)
If I'm a bit short of cash I'll sometimes list tunes that'll break my heart to see them go, keep checking! As at start of June '23 still only part way there, so check back again.
Update March '24 - I'm now listing a few items my music loving friends no longer require so my list is less focused on soul and funk than it used to be. That said, I'll be adding a few hundred more soul and funk tunes soon too, so use the Genre filters on the LHS as you view my sales list.
FROM 28/09/20 I'll be selling to the UK only. Should anyone from overseas be interested in any items I list for sale a work-around would be possible if you knew someone in the UK who could make the purchase for you and then that person send you the item on a non commercial basis. A few buyers have done this successfully so far.
I have spent that little bit of extra time checking and fully play grading each item before I list them. So, besides the Discogs standard US Goldmine condition ratings, I'll try to add some European/UK Record Collector style "in-between" grading to each record's notes.
Please be assured that my VG grading on vinyl records will mean that audio quality will still be there, other defects will be fully detailed. A G+ listing may still sound good but according to grade standard there would be some groove wear or hisses, often from the poor quality of the original pressings. In short, I don't sell records that would disappoint at those grades.
