As said for "Cheap Dust 1" : This is almost the same, long reggae dub constructions in a very wide place. 7.9 out of 10.
posted a review of V C Colt - Electronic Babylon. 11 months ago
Since 2011 V C Colt worked on Mid-80s beats like the "Drinking Gasoline" phase by Cabaret Voltaire. Actually "Electronic Babylon" sounds a lot like these, as if some of these tracks were forgotten in their archives and then pulled out to do something ... See full review

As Dublicist comes back with the recordings of another session ("Cheap Dust"), the focus does not lie explicitely on dub works like before, it sounds more than a spaced out room (maybe a parking garage or somewhere else) where in the far a reggae set is ... See full review

As Dub Techno is well experienced for a few years in the 90ies, Space Specs can't add so much to this style. Seven tracks are mildly 4-on-the-floor stompers with lots of synth'n'samples'n'reverb layers laid upon the smooth beats. Tracks 3 and 5 vary this ... See full review

This is an interesting (mini)-album which revives some of the eighties' On-U memories of Adrian Sherwood, Keith LeBlanc etc. There are lots of hard Funk or Reggae inspired beats, unconventional breaks and cuts, voice samples, dub effects. And it sounds ... See full review

This second album of TICFB goes on where the first ended: Funk beats with bass, guitar and horn section, surrounded by a lot of percussion sounds. But this album sounds more strange in harmony and combination of sounds than the first one. Still ... See full review

Middle-hard Industrial tech beats combined with occasional vocal samples, and a lot of claps, claves and cowbells in the flanger rain.
What remains is the funky bass flavour, especially in tracks like "The Art The Work", "The Action" and "The Reception ... See full review

The third album by Eugen Dittberner is quite more funky and extensive than the two before, but also more distanced from the listener. The result is more cooled out, unexcitedly sound. The high point is the long "Finding You", then it's going a little bit ... See full review

This double tape compiles all the projects and stuff that were in work but not finished when Hirsch Records closed its doors. There is some more sophisticated stuff, some rap-influenced, some noise cores, improvisations, some songs by Gassenhauer (which ... See full review

For the first time a compilation by Hirsch Records made sense. There are still outtakes, random stuff, tape loops etc, but the whole thing is funny and entertaining, even not all works well, some is obsolete. But before you have time to think over it, ... See full review

Here we go with Ui-26 live. It does not work. Two tracks are quite more to the point (B2+B3 sounding a little bit like James Blood Ulmer for the poor). The rest is a bit entertainment, but not really worth close listening.
A 4.2 out of 10.

This split tape starts off again with half improvised half planned stuff by Ui-26... but here and there few good moments (side B), then turns out into mostly crap.

Gassenhauer made their way through to some ethereal dub wave pop funk.. or something like that. Does not work in all ways, but the intention is clear, and the songs are not bad. Wish this would have much more better sound quality, and the main track ... See full review

And again.. a lot of garbage here: Outtakes, tracks that were so bad that they won't appear on the real tape, improvised nonsense, session cuts and "raw" versions to gain time. Not really entertaining and a low point in Hirsch Records history.

Surprisingly the second tape by Ui-26 is much more entertaining than the first one. It's still kind of silly, but the mixture of noise improvisations on pseudo drums and distorted guitar, joined with ambiental, atmospheric organ sounds gets its job done ... See full review

This tape (as the first on Hirsch Records which is just kept shortly) is some kind of nugget full of easy miniatures. Noisy and distorted, running drumbox, some eloquent bass or guitar, tape loops, sometimes a little bit of simple-minded. Quite ... See full review

I don't know if it's unintended funny or not. Ui-26 try to make some atmospheric songs - or something like that, but it turns out to be hard stuff to listen to, and it's absolutely nervy while trying to be romantic or soulful - but it's ridiculous. This ... See full review

If the sound quality were not as bad as it is, this could be a quite entertaining wave/electronic/experimental tape. There are some good ideas on it: A wave-pop song, a punk song, lo-fi cover versions, some eerie drumbox waving in the sound wind, some ... See full review

The sound of Leggina Trundimonde (aka Gina True Legs) from 2011 is not so different from what she does today - but this might be a bit more sparse than "Cat House".
