Apparently a big record when it came out, especially on the UK jazz funk scene (check the many nostalgic comments on the YouTube video, uploaded by David Bendeth himself), Feel The Real is dominated by a seriously snappy bassline and a steady four on the ... See full review

Without doubt the absolute best sampling of Etta James' Something's Gotta Hold On Me. Achingly beautiful pads, laid back breakbeat, classic house piano, later some dirty organ stabs, with James' uncanny voice as the through line. Soft landing in the form ... See full review

Can't help but agree. Amazing collaboration, and the design looks hot but the price is outrageous. This is a series of four 12 inches which I'm assuming will be priced similarly, that's upwards of 80 euro for 4 singles!

It's definitely not one for the club. Just out of curiosity, do you feel the same about stuff by guys like Philip Glass, Steve Reich or Terry Riley? Feel like this artist was going for something similar to them with Tarahumara. I quite like it myself, ... See full review

I would agree, Orchestra Hall seems to have gotten lost in Parrish's massive discography. It's a phenomenal piece of music, definitely up there as one his finer moments in my opinion.

Another good candidate for the 'sounds better at 33 / 45 rpm' debate. A1 is listed above as 12:55 which indicates 33 rpm, though all the sound clips I heard when it came out were at 45 rpm. I see now it's uploaded on YouTube at both speeds. Personally I ... See full review
