My copy has exact BAOI, and is a 3" CD in a 5" sleeve.
Were all copies like this? |

I used to have either this version or Manowar - Hail To England, had not only vinyl surface noise but also a SKIP during the title track.
Unacceptable. |

My copy has the hype-sticker stuck directly onto the front cover.
Were all copies this way? |

My copy is somehow missing the insert. (3 more words)

Mine has matrix "1 26640-2 RE-1 SRC+01 M5S3" ... ...

Columbia's "Hall Of Fame" series dated their sides according to when they were originally released as singles, not by when they were recorded

A friend's copy had the same typo, although I'm not sure offhand whether it was the US Combat LP or German Noise LP. May have been the former, but either way it was quite humorous.

Correction: Late '80s. Until sometime in '85 there were no barcodes on their cassettes, and the spines just had two long horizontal pink/red lines printed on white with the artist, title, label logo & catalog number.

During the '80s this was quite common with Columbia House editions.

What kind of inner-sleeves came with this? [3 more words...]

I've got one of these, but with paper labels. I'll scan and add the release when I can get to more of my tapes.

I just got this version yesterday, disappointed with the scant packaging, no lyric-sheet like the CD had, just a plain paper inner sleeve... but good to have this again, just for the legendary novelty at least. So.... Caveat emptor.

Long Gone John of SFTRI might still have copies for far less. Got mine that way last year.

I did the same with old Mentors tapes in a similar situation during the mid-'90s (along w/ Barney Rubble And The Cunt Stubble), but everyone else there had a sense of humor, even the manager

Found this LP at Goodwill a few months ago. I'm here to ask whether it's supposed to have an insert or printed inner sleeve.
|

This should be listed as a compilation due to having many tracks from later on, not part of the master release page of The New Vaudeville Band - Winchester Cathedral .

I have both FBS & TFD, the latter packaged in a CD-sleeve with an orange 4-panel insert

The mixes might be different... At least the Black Sabbath reference at the end of "Put It In Bare" is more obvious on the demo version than on this 7"EP.

Bought this on cassette when it first came out, later got an '88 2xLP, then the CD (not sure what exact versions of the latter two as I sold or traded both years ago).
This reissue I picked up just the other day. I'm on my third listen now on my... See full review |

#21.1 is actually a re-mix of "Crack Slave", not "Vanilla Ice Warriors".
|

This version has an outro ending Side B sampled from an early-'90s "Liquid Television" episode, which is not on the Moribund CD.
I don't know about the self-released tape or the Defiled Crypt CD reissue. |

Got a Variant 3 copy of this yesterday. Spectrum and dynamics analysis JPGs here: https://imgur.com/a/EXp5vOZ shows it's not a brickwalled "remaster" :)

Mine has exact same runout matrices, but also a lyric insert + two A4 inserts, also 45° cut corner on top right of cover

Found one of these last week, second-hand, identical matrices, "RE" only appears on the front cover, not on the back. Also includes the poster.

Got this CD today... Disappointed with not only the skimpy packaging, but there's a one-second gap between every track... and spectral analysis shows most tracks have anything above 16 kHz cut off, except tracks 1-10 & 13-15 around 18 kHz.
Great... See full review |

I've got 1970 Steppenwolf - Live & 1974 Steppenwolf - Live here ... Been comparing rips I did of each version in Reaper & there are some very slight editing differences between those...

"HC 34987" is the catalog number for the Mastersound Half-Speed LPs. I believe we have a mono here at the shop...
Matrices are: [Side A] HAL-34987-2C 1T 0 Λ3 [Side B] HBL 34987-2F 1T 0 Λ5 Other US variant (I assume proper stereo) = Billy Joel - The Stranger |

Variant 3 here, obtained new yesterday. No censoring sticker on this copy.

GG's tape version has some bits the Black And Blue versions lack. The cassette this was mastered from had some twists in the tape which is why parts of "DF&F" are missing. Also missing is his comment about strangling himself with the microphone...

"" 'Occupation' alone is worth tracking down this record, although it is scarce, and probably not cheap. I would presume though that the song can be found on another GG record...? ""
Not until this.... GG Allin & The Jabbers - Dead or Alive - Occupation - Gimme Some Head - UNH Interview |

Very slight matrix variant (which I shall add later) but the end of Side B 's runout groove continues the end of the last track with an audible loop after the stylus does the typical end-of-side thing...

A little late (I just brought this home today) but although "Explorations In Microtonal Tuning Volume 1" (on cover) + "Explorations In Microtonal Tuning Vol I" (on inner sleeve) are merely subtitles. Spine-print reads simply, "KING GIZZARD AND THE...

This is still available from their official website, so I don't quite understand some others $elling the download on Bandcamp... Well, it is what it is but I'm sticking to this version as all others are derived from it. I'd gladly buy their other output.

Great to revisit this stuff after a couple decades! Got this 2nd-hand a few months ago... BUT Disc #9 got accidentally BROKEN. Maybe a longshot here but I thought I'd mention it here just in case there's another one floating around out there...

I just picked up a sealed copy of this LP. A bit confused, as when I opened it it bore the exact same labels as Donald J. Borror - Common Bird Songs but with the same matrix etchings as Donald J. Borror - Common Bird Songs which judging from the runouts could very well be from 1981 ??
There also an... See full review |

Forgot to also mention the "booklet" is actually a 6-panel double-sided foldout.

Mine has the runout as RO1530008 G4 970710 **
Same mastering SID code: ifpi LF12 No mould SID code. Not so sure this is a 2000 pressing. I bought mine in Summer of 1998 at Red Stream's merch-table. 1997 re-press perhaps (judging by "970710") ?? |

Mine is #275/300, similar to the one pictured here but with an additional Bandcamp download code insert. I just got this the other day.
