The Classical genre functions differently than other genres - the emphasis is more often than not on Composers.
For Jazz, Rock/Pop or electronic releases, it's all about the Performer.
For Classical, it's all about the Composer.
When you listen to classical radio, the emphasis is on the Composer.
When you buy classical music, it is listed under the Composer.
When you look at classical releases, they give top or equal billing to the Composer, as they often do to the conductor and orchestra.
