I run 8205 Recordings, http://www.blogtotheoldskool.com and used to produce crazy unfriendly music as Dev/Null (still do now and again)

fan of lots of music styles but I've mostly been collecting lesser known 1991-1995 hardcore/jungle on vinyl for the past 18 years. Feel free to contact me if you've got a bunch of that kind of stuff you're interested in selling, especially rarities / white labels/ unreleased acetates / stuff not listed on discogs / etc. I do a radio show with Tim Reaper every other Sunday on jungletrain.net (archived sets up at http://soundcloud.com/devnull-dj) so I still play this music a lot, I don't just file it away never to be heard again.

IMPORTANT FYI for people hitting me up asking to buy/get rips of records I've rated: I rate lots of records I don't own on here, probably more than ones I do own, mainly to keep track of what I've heard before. So hitting me up for rips or asking me to sell obscenely rare records just because I rated them is pointless, I prob don't even own them.

Based on what I saw from online threads etc, it seems there's 3 possibilities why this is set to "bootleg":
1. One of the HRT artists had been the point of contact the whole time and the other artist was not cool with it / found out after it came out. ... See full review

Ben UFO has been playing it a fair bit (just heard it in his Unsound Festival set), Will Dimaggio had it too, definitely a bunch more I don't know though.

Great stuff from Jerome Hill, perfectly executed 91-92 trax for the heads. Not just kitschy samplemania, you can tell this is made by an OG not some kid thoughtlessly swiping a few samples off youtube or from a certain used-to-death jungle sample pack. ... See full review

Decent record, I wrote about it on my site many years ago. AA side is the one, nice and vibey.

I gotta wonder though: why is it that whenever a throwback non-house/techno record gets popularized by a DJ inside that scene, a million collectors proceed ... See full review

Does anyone have a pressing of this where the b side is actually another mix of "Reach Into the Light" and not the b side of Sound Man* - Wishing On A Dream ?
I've got 2 copies, both of the b side of "Wishing on a Dream" on the flip, with similar (but not identical) cat #s ... See full review

Extremely skippable EP, there's a good reason this didn't make it past test press/promo phase. the jungle remix is just a break loop under the B side RNB track, no real changes or anything interesting. Renk is a great label, but even label completists ... See full review

"Hardcore Techno"? from the US, circa 96? Yeah right, this is probably ravey sounding breaks... Err, nope, this sounds every bit like a 92 (distinctly US) hardcore techno record, like something out of LA maybe. OK then, so maybe the year is off, and ... See full review

Previously this entry was used for 2 separate DUG02 pressings on De Underground Records:
1. De Underground* / Cool Hand Flex - Untitled - as still listed here, which according to someone in the history came with a printed promo sheet).
2. Cool Hand Flex / Marley Marl (2) - Bass Injection / Feel It.

There's slight differences in the Cat #s, ... See full review

100 copies only? Given 122 "haves", I don't think so. Regardless, this is a nice 92 hardcore tune (even better if you like "Twin Peaks"). Big respect to Nookie, one of the first to open up his back-catalog of previously unreleased 92-95 stuff for ... See full review

Having owned 3 different copies of this over the past 10 years (big secret weapon / sold spares to friends), I'm fairly confident it's called "Trance Dance" as every copy has been labelled as such. All about the 16th note kick rolls, utter mayhem!

Decent tune, wasn't sure if this would sound like dnb or what given the year it was made... has a bit more of a simple repetitive steppy beat, but done with classic breaks so it could fit in with earlier stuff as well (no big aggro dnb drums in sight)
posted a comment on Beenie Man - Bad Man Medley. about 1 year ago
I'd say the year of this has to be after 2000 since the amens on side B sound "recycled" (ran through the program Recycle and pitched up at the individual hit level vs the whole break) which wasn't traditionally done in mid 90's jungle.

I'm pretty sure the Potential Bad Boy tune is the same as "rollin" on https://www.discogs.com/Potential-Bad-Boy-With-MC-Det-So-Simple-Rollin/master/45229 Not sure whether this track should be renamed or which is the "official" title.
