Another nice collection of breaky psy-trance from 21-3. Standout tracks include Digitalis "Rapid Eye", Funkopath's "Skweel" and ManMadeMan's "Karmaflage". The remix of Pan's Murphy is also fun, as that track comes in halfway through with an all-timer ... See full review

You see the 303 on the cover from across the record store.

You walk over and immediately your eye darts to the 909 in the artist name.

The album title is "Acid Technology".

You should now know EXACTLY what you are going to get. You buy it, take it ... See full review

Whenever somebody I know tells me they are getting into scratching, I play them "Skanky Panky". Not in a "You must be this tall to enjoy this ride" kind of way, more of a "Have you ever considered that you could sound like this?" kind of way. For fun I ... See full review

I am a sucker for this kind of mashup, using unexpected instruments to convey a genre other than the primary one being performed. "Country and Eastern", the second track on this release, captures it perfectly. Moodwise, this is classic Hearts of Space ... See full review

Never fails to please. This is a pre-fabbed instant party, an "A VS. B" performing artist showdown in one tidy package.

This one gets my vote as "Favorite FB album" for sure. The sequence from "Airlock Holmes" through "Snakeskin Bib" is essentially flawless, moving from enveloping ambient to funky horn charts to sudden, arresting Rhodes piano riffs. The use of...well I ... See full review

The minimalist polyrhythmic groove of "Rustic Bellyflop" gets me every time.

This is a stupendously strange record, with dense layering of samples and textures, that rewards repeated listening.

If you get a little joyous shiver when the pedal steel guitar lick drops early on in the KLF's seminal _Chill Out_ sessions, boy have I got a treat for you. This is a whole album full of downtempo grooves, overlaid with tasteful slide guitar of all ... See full review

Saw this at Amoeba records in San Francisco, laughed at the cover, it was $5, brought it home. Surprisingly great music! Super glitchy breakbeats, sharply contrasted by smooth melodies made up of what sounds like straight video-game samples.

When I first moved to San Francisco in 1995, Cheb was the house DJ on Thursday nights at a *tiny* little club in the lower Haight district called Nickie's. The dance floor, if you could call it that, was barely 10x20' and had a support pole smack in the ... See full review

ANSI Standard House music, from the era before every House record needed a deep/electro-/tribal/progressive/tech-/diva/micro- subgenre attached in order to assist the hipster cognoscenti with their powers of commercial discrimination. Does exactly what ... See full review

I didn't understand the title track until I saw the video. Got it now. We forget, maybe, but just because your phone can make that kind of video in realtime now doesn't make it any less mindblowing that those visuals were rendered in 2002.

In my opinion, Alberto Balsalm is the best song RDJ ever wrote. There are plenty of reasons to prefer a dozen other tracks based on personal preference (your favorite RDJ tune is also awesome!) but just as a melodic and rhythmic composition, DAMN.

Not gonna lie, the album art caught my eye and I impulse bought this in the late 90s. It's become one of my favorites downtempo psy releases. TheTreeTribe has it right, the Astral Projection and Quartermass tracks are standout, but I also dig the ... See full review

I'm surprised to see no comments at all on Sanjiva's music. This is excellent, well produced psychedelic chillout music with occasional forays into danceable BPMs. As track titles suggest, there isn't much darkness here, few to no abrasive timbres, ... See full review

This is a relentlessly excellent ambient dub album, a high point of the Waveform catalog. All the tracks sit in that zone where you can bask in them, or get up and dance, your choice.

A perfectly lovely psy-ambient-dub album, full stop. Checks every box on the recipe: Deep rolling bass, loping beats, squelchy bits, samples that some will say are profound and some will say are cheesy AF... but all balanced out over a whole album's ... See full review

The first 5 tracks of this album are all absurdly good and any one of them can serve as the track to send a crowd over the top. I have a soft spot for Spores from Space, which is filled with absolutely ripping acid lines. I think the tracks at the tail ... See full review
