The drums on side D sound like Lars is in my living room. Outstanding remaster and pressing. I've never heard the first pressing but it can't be much better than this.

SOUNDS FANTASTIC. Excellent remaster and pressing of my favourite Metallica record. The bass and drums live in my chest when I listen to this. Oh and The Small Hours CRUSHES.

If it was pressed in someone’s garage it’d probably sound better!

Exceptional sounding pressing. Second only to my In Rainbows boxset. Highly recommended - even to casual NIN listeners and audiophiles in general, BOMBASTIC.

Please let us know how that works out. My US pressing is very noisy.

Hoo boy! when Cliff jumps into the chugging riff at the start of Disposable Heroes I was completely sold on this fine remaster. That and the title track alone (mastered like you've never heard it before) more than make up for the near intolerable amount ... See full review

I've never heard a better mix of this album and I've heard or own all the significant pressings. For real. If you're a fan this is a must have.

BASS. Great pressing of a great album. No problems but if your setup isn't heavy bass friendly you might blow a speaker.

This pressing sounds very, very good. The mastering is top shelf and the bass goes HARD. Didn't expect the vinyl to sound any better than the CD but it does to my ears.

Sounds absolutely fantastic. Guitar grinds, bass pounds and the clarity of the drums and vocals is stunning. Records look a little blotchy out of the sleeves but it doesn't effect playback as this is a dead quiet pressing. Happy to have this in my ... See full review

Best vinyl release of this to date. Dead quiet and 1960s sounding stereo mix. Oh and the blue vinyl is delicious. Great boot!

Mine's a little warped but not enough to effect playback thankfully.

Pretty mediocre pressing - a little warped and not very quiet. Cleaned twice and no big difference. Still worth getting though because this will probably be the last version of the original master available on vinyl and it sounds fantastic. Noise is ... See full review

Terrible pressing. Washed twice thoroughly with my Record Doctor V machine and the noise barely left. Mix kind of sucks too. Pretty disappointing compared to Rust in Peace which is top shelf mix wise.

Physical - Spindle holes too tight, some warping that luckily doesn't effect playback
Auditory - Dead quiet, powerful bottom end, crystal clear separation

Sounds very, very good. Reminds me of listening to it on tape back in the day with that warm analog wall of sound. Can't wait for Master of Puppets and Justice

When I put this on I legit can't believe I'm not listening to the CD, then I realize it sounds even better than the CD. Vinyl is the only way to listen to this great album. Zero complaints. Get it.

Stunningly good. Cliff's bass and Lars' kick are really front and centre in this remaster, and it sounds fantastic. Everything else is balanced very nicely. It does get hot at times, but that's metal without a ton of compression, and it's okay with me. ... See full review

Got a dud pressing. Side A was perfect but side B had a constant static scratching sound throughout. This is after a very thorough vacuum wash as well. Remastering sounds good. Not a huge difference from my original Canadian copy though.

I gave mine a thorough wash out of the sleeve (it was full of static) and it's completely quiet. Sounds amazing. My XL Hail to the Thief and OK Computer sounds great too. Not sure why you're having such bad luck!

Dead quiet. Only have the Capitol 10" for vinyl comparison but this sounds better than the CD. Everything In It's Right Place... oh my God.

This is most likely a digital remaster. The original masters are too old and damaged. The 30th anniversary edition is the last all analog remaster and that was done in 2003.

Did you wash the record? I find most new records are quite noisy right out of the sleeve unless you wash them. Usually they clean up quite nicely and end up being super quiet.

I bought this at a record con for $40 and when I spun it at home my cart skated all over the place during the first song. It's like the record is white becasue it's made of ice. When it wasn't skating it sounded fantastic. Looks like the spindle hole on ... See full review
