UPDATE: I wrote to an online record store today that was selling this set, too, and told them about the problem, asking if they were willing to check their copy (they only had one left). They wrote back to me that it would be no use ordering, they had... See full review

A new record fresh from the pressing plant which you paid at least 22 Euros for is NOT supposed to have a SINGLE pop.

I had two of those, and while not as quiet as black vinyl, the green one was okay every time. But the red vinyl was very noisy in the quiet parts (sshhhh shhhhh shhhhh - noise) which was audible all the time.
Both sets went back to the sender. It is... See full review

I don't know, but none of the stuff he has been doing ever since his masterpiece "Untrue", has been as compelling. Not a fan of the vocal track.

I am late to the party reading this, but I can only confirm what you are saying. My original copy from 1986 has had these strong, hissing 's' s, too, right from the first listen. 34 years later and the record sounds even more horrible on my (high... See full review

I ordered my copies from Amazon, maybe they got a bad batch?

The black vinyls are covered with tiny plastic particles and there are many visible smears on them when you hold them to the light, which causes a crackling sound all through, not just in the quiet parts. The production stuff at the vinyl plant didn't... See full review

...Don't we all love it, they are pushing back this single while the follow up ("Something more") is already available digitally... The strangest release policy ever!

All of the THREE (!) copies of this vinyl edition I bought and returned in 2020 were very noisy in the quieter parts, but side B of the second record particularly so. A "gust-of-snow-like" surface noise (sssSSSht.....sssSSSht.....sssSSSht...) can be... See full review

For me this one and Hurricane are the best Grace Jones albums. It contains "Unlimited Capacity for Love", which is the best Grace Jones Track ever!

The only version that works for me is the one with the original track order. I also want FROZEN FACES off the album! This lazy track has nothing to do there, it just destroys the overall flow of the album. And the only version of Jewel that needs to... See full review

Does anyone know if the version of "Flipside" that can be found on the 2019 vinyl re-release of the "Walking Wounded" album can be found on any of the CD releases or in some digitial form somewhere? The added sounds definitely make it the better version.

Unfortunately I've had exactly the same experience as you with this pressing... There is constant crackling in the background, which is audible all through the songs, and this is my second copy!

In the 90s, the high time of CD singles, I always tried to get the British releases, because the general European releases were ALWAYS missing tracks. Many times you also had to get the 12 singles if you wanted to have all the remixes. So avoid this... See full review

I avoided this live album back then, because neither did it contain all the songs from the Roseland Ballroom concert nor were all the recordings from that concert. What a strange release. I really don't know what the point of buying this would have... See full review

I second that! Although U.F. Orb was not a bad album at the time, Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld has aged much better, writing this 18 years later.

I feel exactly the same about this album. It's pure genius. I have been listening to it for days now.

I second that. There's a lot to like after 1994. particularely "Moonbuilding" and the new album " Abolition of the Royal Familia", which is a masterpiece.

If CD 2 was to be put into this double case, what were people supposed to do with the cardboard sleeve it came in?

Whilst the Orb have been making good music now and again over the decades, I couldn't warm to "No Sounds Are Out of Bounds" at all. However, with "Abolition Of The Royal Familia" they have made their best album in years, if not one of their best... See full review

The version of "Tell Me Why Is It Oh So Hard To Be Oh So Lovely" found on this 12" ep plays more than one minute longer (5'45") than the original version on the CD and vinyl albums (4'27").

It's a pity the great artwork of the CD album is absent here. It would have looked great in 12" format. The artwork used here looks cheap and uninspired. Not as breathtaking as "Music On Vinyl" think. What a shame.

One of the greatest LAMB singles ever! With its jazzy double bass and shuffled beats! And the remixes are great too.

The sound of this album is very compressed and mushy, which harms the spherical parts. Some headroom between the loudest parts and the 0db ceiling certainly wouldn't have been harmful to the music.
