Stephen Stills - Right By You

Another low point for Steve. Great lineup of musicians, but the songs don't stand up to Stills usual high level of writing. Heck, he even covers a Neil Young song!

Are you looking for the V and C in the runouts? If you look at the list of variants, not all have either V or C. Look at all the variants and you'll probably find what you're looking for.

Like Art of Noise without the Fairlight CMI synthesizer. Early sampling.
Wishbone Ash - Argus
posted a review of Wishbone Ash - Argus. 5 months ago
Argus is and has been one of my all time favorite records, and this Japanese remaster sounds just, well, unbelievable. I've owned a first press on vinyl since the day it dropped, and it has been a staple on my turntable. Despite a record collection... See full review
Rachel Goswell - Waves Are Universal
posted a review of Rachel Goswell - Waves Are Universal. 6 months ago
Excellent record by Slowdive/Mojave 3 member Rachel Goswell. It's really too bad that Rachel didn't get more singing parts when she was a member of Mojave 3. And that's not taking anything away from Neil Halstead. He's one of the finest singers of... See full review
Yes - Yesterdays

This variant is just a plain old Presswell pressing, released for mass consumption in 1975, but I gotta say it sounds amazing. I think sometimes when engineers mess with the original mix on older records, there's times when mixes should be left... See full review
Starcastle - Song Of Times

I know it'll never happen, but this disc could use a vinyl issue. Not only for the music, which is excellent, but also for the fantastic artwork by Renaissance Annie Haslam. Would love to see it full album size.
Iron And Wine - Around The Well
posted a review of Iron And Wine - Around The Well. 7 months ago
A perfect record. Sam Bean sings in a very whispery voice, and so much of the record is, you guessed it, quiet. There's no inordinate surface noise or rumble (but I have an AR XA turntable which is the quietest deck on earth). It does not sound like... See full review
Genesis - Spot The Pigeon

Sweet EP to go along with Wind and Wuthering. And the blue vinyl sounds very good (unlike much of the colored vinyl out there). I would rather have had Inside and Out than Your Own Special Way tho. I know that was Rutherford's song and he was quite... See full review
Todd Rundgren - Singles

The all inclusive Todd compilation. Not only does it represent Todd completely, but the sound of these Japanese CD's is so excellent. I often play them over the vinyl versions I have of the same records.
Jethro Tull - The Zealot Gene

Solid record from Ian and band. Don't expect Aqualung or Benefit. It's Ian Anderson 2022 and he's still churning out great songs. Could've done a little better with the cover art tho.
Boston - Boston

Do it Jenell. Put that baby on, crank it up, and admit that every note is completely great. I was there as you were when this record dropped. Everyone bought it, and then just as quickly denied having bough it. Not me. (Okay maybe a few times I... See full review

Excellent chronicle of a band in its absolute prime, at time when they defined the goth movement. Eventually The Cure succumbed to the trite, jangle pop they eventually settled into, but here, no way. The small number of people who attended these... See full review

I get that one's opinion of music, like any art, is subjective, but seriously? You can't be talking about Spartacus by Triumvirat. Elevator music? Background noise? Come on bro. Spartacus is one of the great masterpieces of progressive rock. Yes,... See full review

Absolutely perfect. Not a pop or click to be found. Vinyl itself is flat and heavy, and the soundstage and instrument, vocal and harp are right where they should be. This is an undisputed masterpiece, and this version is the one to have (if you can... See full review
Rolling Stones* - Blue & Lonesome
posted a review of Rolling Stones* - Blue & Lonesome. about 1 year ago
Don't agree at all. It's very open and airy, with solid sonics across the board. The band brought on Don Was for production, and there's no way he's going to cut a compressed boring blues record, even if it is the Rolling Stones.
Domenic Troiano - Domenic Troiano

Never know what you're going to get from the same batch of pressings. I'm with those who have no issues whatsoever. No pops, crackles, of surface noise. Flat and smooth as glass. and the sound is top notch with no sibilance or inner groove distortion.

Excellent pressing overall. My copy is super quiet and flat with nicely pressed vinyl. The soundstage is spacious with room shaking lows and highs that aren’t harsh or sibilant. This one’s a pleasure to listen to.
Stephen Stills - Thoroughfare Gap

Probably the worst Stills record ever. There's a few songs worth listening to, but overall this is a lame attempt at disco, and it even fails at that. Skip this one.
