Four deep and deadly minimal funk jams. Very tight production throughout. Particular favourite of mine is Egyptia with its far eastern flavour. A well rounded electro release out of Austria that fails to disappoint.

'Multi Ordinal Tracking Unit' featured on the DJ Bone compilation 'Subject Detroit'. This track is devoted to the whole of side A and is a cutting piece of machine funk with a suitably loud pressing.

On side B the runout groove simply reads TRACK - ... See full review

Excellent vocoder use on this Detroit inspired techno release from the elusive Counterattack crew. They ably demonstrate they know how to run things on this accomplished debut. A worthy addition to any techno collection, find it if you can.

Some quirky, some downright rude the fifteen tracks and interludes crammed on this jam packed two disc set from Clatterbox make this a justifiably sought after release. With excellent production throughout that sounds as fresh as the day it was made. A ... See full review

Very accomplished techno from the Counterattack crew who have been likened to a Welsh Underground Resistance. You can understand why being of a consistently high quality throughout the ep and ably covering many bases along the way. An essential purchase.

Devastating Detroit electro from Keith Tucker and Tommy Hamilton featuring the powerful wall shaking bass of 'I Need to Freak', Kraftwerkian powerhouse 'Is It Man Or Machine' and the ode to the process of deriving sound from exotic metal boxes with 'My ... See full review

Oscillator is a stunning track, one of Carl Craig's finest. Paperclip Man is a dirty percussive workout great for mixing. Total classic.

The Link remix of 7:39 is an amazing track, very reminiscent of Carl Craig's BFC guise. Not keen on the other two mixes on the flip but the Link mix is a classic.

Seriously solid four track EP of no nonsense, distinctly quirky, 16bit funk. More akin to the sort of minimal electronics made by Like A Tim, Landstrumm or Bell than some of The Horn's more esoteric label mates. He manages to put together his tracks ... See full review

From the track titles you can tell he is having a laugh... but never at the expense of the music.
Side A opens with the sublime string soaked electrofied groove of Up Exe, followed by the very pleasant The Sofa Will Suffice.
Side B starts with Shunt, ... See full review

Hip hop, electro, house and techno are all represented on this great LP from Steve Horne. He sticks to the groove unlike many of his contemporaries which is where The Horn's material comes into its own. Inventive without the fuss and noodle. Solidly ... See full review

A very nice slice of downtempo Detroit from back in the day. A deeply emotive release which mesmerises you with some great string work , nice use of reverb delay, lush vocals and a breakbeat feel.

The Boogizm label was one of my favourite labels of last year. Always pushing the envelope as far as sounds and production whilst never losing sight of that all important groove. Every release is essential.

A couple of off the wall German producers who make the sort of stripped down minimal jacking techno and 8-bit madness that is both funky and fun sounding like the bastard offspring of Daniel Bell and Neil Landstrumm. Next time some one says to you ... See full review

Keith Tucker of AUX 88 fame returns in techno mode for Irish label D1. Its simple but very effective, the vocal 'And U Will Dance' intones over a deep 4/4 rhythm with repeating signatures over the top. Irish outfit Decal provide a remix and add their own ... See full review
