I have a near mint 1964 vinyl pressing of this album and the sound quality seems superior to the CD reissues which sound a little murky and flat by comparison. The piano has a noticably brighter sound on the vinyl LP, without losing the dymaics of the ... See full review

The original US version of this 1973 album (Verve V6-8833) has the title "Previously Unreleased Recordings" in place of "A Discovery in 1973" used for this Japanese release. Other than this the cover designs are identical.

Tracks A is the 1983 Kling Klang mix (done in Germany); track B is the 1984 Kling Klang mix (done in New York) that was later reissued in 1999 as "Kling Klang Analog mix".

This is a very rare release, as it contains a trio of tracks that are entirely long version mixes; the 12-inch releases elsewhere worldwide always had at least one track in shorter 7-inch edited form or were only a pair of longer mixes.

I have this release and although both the cover and disc labels state "Version Allemande", it is actually the French vocal track that is used on the B1 track and therefore is identical to the 1984 UK 12-inch.
