Lifelong music obsessive. Bought my first record in Uxbridge in 1979 when I was 10 and haven't looked back since. Well, except for the time I sold most of my collection in a moment of early new-millennium madness.
First single: The Jags - Back Of My Hand, 1979
First LP: The Police - Reggatta De Blanc, 1979
First tape: The Jam - The Gift, 1982
First CD: Slayer - Show No Mercy, 1983
First gig: Iron Maiden @ Oxford Apollo, 5 May 1983
First festival: Donington, Aug 1985
changes too often to update.
Shout out to Burger Records in CA, the only label I collect.
RIP to the following great record shops...
Shades Records, Soho, London, the original metal store, my weekend hangout through the 80s, met many bands in that place
Scorpion Records, High Wycombe, my first love YouTube
Rough Trade/Slam City Skates, Neal's Yard, London
Parrot Records, Jays Records, Hot Numbers, all Cambridge
Rounder Records, Brighton
Oven Ready Records, Aylesbury
PS I'm a buyer not a seller. But if you are looking for something that I have and are willing to make me an eye-watering offer then give me a shout.
Nothing in my collection is graded as M even if, by some miracle, it actually is M. All my records are cleaned, stored in poly-lined sleeves, in turn stored in Mylar Japanese outer sleeves.
