Does this edition come with a booklet like other titles in the Jazz At 33⅓ rpm series? I just got a sealed copy without the green hype sticker and it had no booklet though the matrix numbers, covers, and labels seem to match.

Is this a legit release? Where are the images? Updates to matrixes and labels? Looks like the numbers match the Netherlands release. This needs some work.

Besides the track Second Nature, all of these songs appeared on the UK version of the LP or on EPs and singles compiled for the North American market. This probably should be listed as a compilation.

This is a cd version of the 1957 release Selections From Lerner And Loewe's (tracks 1-6) plus bonus tracks.

David Cheppa does a masterful (no pun intended) job on this one. My copy is perfectly flat and has only minimal surface noise which is acceptable at this price point. If you don't want to spend an arm and a leg, a clean copy of this is a good way to... See full review

Same as Chet Baker Quartet but songs are in different order. Includes 4 bonus tracks.
Should this release be merged with https://www.discogs.com/master/view/456226 I wonder?

Another error on the cd booklet, the Sonny Rollins selections are noted as being tracks #1-#4. On the original LP that quintet played only 3 songs: Soft Shoe, Confab In Tempo, and I'll Take Romance. On the cd they are listed as tracks #1-#3 but they... See full review

The mastering is wonderful, BC96 must have a bad copy. Great 'air', very open sound and fabulous dynamics. Also, back in the day I had the cover on my wall as it was florescent and glowed under the black light.

Does the Scorpio have DC BQS in the deadwax? That would indicate David Cheppa cut the lacquer. His work is consistently good. Check out his work on the Atlantic titles of Ornette and Roland Kirk. Underappreciated and therefore a great value.

There are already 2 listings for the red/yellow version (US and Euro), this listing is for the black vinyl version.

Not sure which specific titles had issues, but the Blue Note releases are stellar. Also, every classical title I've heard is top-notch. Both 180 and 200 gram releases are as good as it gets.

Could be that they switched record plants recently. I own several LPs in the series and the sound quality is outstanding, great with headphones.

Denis Blackham did a great job on this one, a good alternative to high-priced originals.

Quite impressed with the mastering on this one. Was not aware of Prairie Cat (Mark Richardson) before. Recommended.

Tracks 1-6 represent the original Sonic Boom as released in 1979.
The remaining tracks, 7-13, were originally released in 1978 as sides C and D of the 2LP set The Procrastinator

GFX 3024 should be Vol 2 as it contains the remainder of the US 2LP release (sides C and D)
GFX 3023 would then be considered Vol 1 of the 2LP set that was released in the US the same year (sides A and B)

Surprisingly excellent sound quality on this one, superbly open soundstage when compared to the disappointingly veiled reissue done more recently on Lion. Great job in the mastering. Also comes with an informative 16-page booklet and bonus tracks.... See full review
